Established in 1999, RKS Roofing Contractors has over 10 years of experience in the roofing industry. All aspects of slating, tiling and general roofing are undertaken. Their qualified tradesmen provide high-quality workmanship at competitive prices to clients throughout the local York area and the North of England.
As roofing contractors, we carry out all types of pitch roofing and flat roof works in traditional and new methods in and around York. We carry out everything, from small repairs to major re-roofs. As competent roofers, we carry out work to a very high standard. We do full roof health check which includes checks for asbestos, insulation, guttering, lead work, fascia and soffit and general condition etc.
The eaves of a house are the part of the roof that overhangs the edge of the walls, keeping water clear from the walls, and preventing problems with water and damp seeping through into the building. To protect the rafters, boards are added to the edge and the underside of the eaves. These also provide a firm base to which to attach gutters.
Cure It, the GRP roofing system which we use, is issued with a 20-year warranty. The product is a fully-formulated, wet-laid, GRP waterproofing system. It is highly flexible and is fully bonded to the roof substrate. The system will be resistant to any wind uplift that could reasonably be expected during the product's lifespan.

Recently used RKS Roofing for a full re-roof of a large detached slate roof - involved new insulation layer, re-use of slates and additional reclaimed slates where required and all pointing, flashing and woodwork repaired or replaced. Richard was excellent from start to finish. Materials were acquired in advance, which avoided some of the recent price hikes. He was continually in touch prior to job commencing to update on likely start dates. The biggest asset was that his communication throughout was great - always updating us on how the job was progressing, anything that might impact on costs

Not only are they excellent workmen who do a brilliant job, but they are prompt, turn up when they say they will, friendly, courteous and reliable. Rich is now the only roofer I will use, having used other companies before his. He's honest and knowledgeable. I have an old 19th century house and Rich and his team know how to work with it. His team work hard when on site and are respectful. No other company has come close. There are not many construction companies I could give 5 stars to, RKS is an exception.

We've recently had our roof fully re-done, and I was extremely impressed with the way the work was undertaken and completed. There were a number of complications to the work - not least the gable end of our roof being 4 inches out of square! - but these were professionally overcome with no compromises on the quality of the workmanship. Communication was excellent throughout the whole job, with all queries and questions promptly responded to. I can not recommend RKS Roofing Contractors highly enough.

We have used Richard and his team a couple of times now for roof repairs and would not look at another company. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding. The team is very hard working when on site and Richard keeps you constantly updated with photos of the work being performed. Richard and his team are very popular and you may have to wait a while for the work but we’d far rather wait than chance our arm with a different company.

Richard and team were fantastic, they installed a solar tube into our hallway. The quality of the installation is excellent, all the work carried out to the highest standard. Customer service was fantastic throughout the whole experience, from quotation to installation. I would recommend them and I would certainly use them again.

We used RKS a few times. Richard and team last year came to replace the roof on a property we moved into, the existing roof was in a terrible state of repair. They did an amazing job, everything was up to a great quality, even our builder was very impressed with the end result. Richard has also been a great help to us for our rental property, replacing and repairing the loose roof tiles and most recently stopping a vibrating down pipe for us.
Richard is extremely responsive and helpful and honest.
We will need to replace the roof on our rental in the next few years and will 100% use RKS, we wouldn’t
