Scott & Co is an independent practice of Chartered Building Surveyors and Historic Building Professionals concentrating on Building Surveying and Building Conservation. We work on listed buildings and non listed properties for private and corporate clients, trusts, charities and churches.

We survey and report upon repairs, prepare detailed plans for submission to the council for Planning Permission and Listed Building Consents, draw up specifications, tender and administer projects on site.We offer a personal service from inception to completion. We are based in Truro and Launceston and work throughout Cornwall, the Scilly Isles and Devon.

Services Report

We are a practice of Chartered Building Surveyors and Historic Building Consultants. Our expertise covers most facets of Building Surveying based on many years of training and hands on experience dealing with existing buildings. We regularly update our professional knowledge base, attending seminars and undertaking personal development.

The Practice Report

Scott & Co was established in 1997 by David and Dolly Scott. The practice has developed upon a sure foundation and expertise which has been constantly evolving since David first came to work in Cornwall in 1981. This begins a new and exciting phase in the practice as we go forward and grow from strength to strength.

Building Conservation Report

Building Conservation forms the bedrock of the Practice. We have long been supporters of the philosophy of minimum intervention and an informed conservation approach. This is not always possible, and therefore well considered alternatives have to be debated in depth, and if considered acceptable, adopted.

Design Report

This can come in the form of both a totally new design concept or carefully considered conservation proposals working in sympathy with the existing structure. Our design team is largely in house. Plans are prepared in conjunction with CAD whilst still maintaining the quality of traditional drawing.

Churches Report

The Practice is retained to advise upon over 200 ecclesiastical buildings of five different denominations. The services offered range from a standard quinquennial report to full repair and conservation projects. We work closely with Church Councils, statutory ecclesiastical and secular bodies, statutory consultees and Historic England.
