Dernier & Hamlyn is a British company specialising in bespoke contemporary and heritage lighting design and manufacture. Dernier & Hamlyn is one of the few companies that designs and manufactures fittings in the UK. Our factory in London is home to a team of specialist designers and artisans who produce pendants, chandeliers and other lighting individually made to meet designers' specific requirements for luxury residences and hotels, superyachts and restaurants.
The company was established in 1888 and, while we are proud of our heritage and the unique experience and expertise our team has built up over the years, our focus is very much on the future and using new techniques and materials alongside the traditional to produce beautiful custom-made lighting to meet designers' requirements on time and on budget.

Bespoke lighting is at the heart of everything we do. We have been designing, manufacturing and restoring chandeliers, pendants, wall lights, lanterns, table lamps and other unique lighting products in London for more than 130 years. Bespoke lighting made by our highly skilled team can be seen in hotels, luxury yachts, restaurants, private homes, commercial and public buildings all over the world.
We believe that design and manufacture are intrinsically linked and that you can't have one without the other. So, at Dernier & Hamlyn, we always make sure these essential functions are seamlessly integrated. Some designers come to us with fully formed plans carefully drawn out with detailed engineering, materials, lamping and finishing specifications.
Dernier & Hamlyn's team is committed to each project from concept to installation and this gives us the opportunity to see our products through to the end of the journey. We see installation, whether it be dressing chandeliers or hanging pendants, as a vital service for our clients and it is a satisfying and rewarding experience for both the client and our team to see our products placed in their intended environment.
At Dernier & Hamlyn, we're often asked to what our greatest challenge is. We'd probably say improving on history - and it's a challenge we relish. Recreating heritage designs for modern lighting technology is a large and important part of our work these days. We're also tasked with reproducing original designs - a painstaking process - or creating new fittings that are in keeping with a building's heritage.
