About Us Report

Capital City Electrical are electrical contractors based in Edinburgh. We undertake both domestic and commercial contracts. We deal with jobs as small as additional electrical wiring and sockets in a home to re-wiring complete houses and offices. We can travel throughout Scotland and to the north of England for major contracts.

Our service to landlords is comprehensive, we can undertake and supply full Testing and Inspection Reports, PAT Testing and HMO works. So if you require to ensure you are legally compliant and your property is absolutely safe, we can help. We can advise on requirements and regulations for new builds both first fix and second fix, and carry out the rewiring work to the highest standard, supplying all necessary fixtures and fittings.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports EICR in Edinburgh Report

The Scottish Government has created new legislation to help protect tenants which means that if you are a landlord in Scotland you must ensure that your property is safe for your tenants. This inspection is split into 2 main parts known as PAT and EICR. PAT - Portable Appliance Test. This test is carried out if you have provided any portable appliances in your rented property.

FAQs Smoke Alarms Report

Do current regulations in Scotland require all private homes to have smoke alarms fitted?. There have been changes to legislation known as the "Tolerable Standard" in Scotland. It requires all households to have interlinked fire & smoke alarm systems, with appropriate carbon monoxide (CO) protection (where there is a fuel burning appliance or flue).

I have used this company since 2010. They have done a whole re-wire on 2 flats that I own. They are very experienced and do a great job. They supply all the necessary paperwork to comply with legislation.
They have recently put in wired smoke detectors required now by law in my rental flats.
They are also very reliable and trustworthy as with my rental flats I just provide them with keys and they get on with the job themselves.
They tidy up after they finish and are very polite and get on with their work to a high standard. I will be using them in the future for other renovations and work on
