We are a small established family run carpet business based in Stockport, Cheshire. We aim to give you, not only the best value carpets and vinyls, but also some good old fashioned service. Something, we believe is, sadly lacking in today's environment. Steele's Carpets moved to its current location on Buxton Road Stockport in 2011 after 19 years trading as The Carpet Centre in Shaw Heath, Stockport.
As we are family run, we felt it would be right to put our name to the business, hence the change of our trading name. Well over 50% of our business comes from either customers using us for at least a second time or people who have been recommended to use us. Our aim is to give you the best value and service in the town, offer a great selection of carpets, laminate flooring, kitchen vinyl, bathroom vinyl and rugs.

We then moved to our current location on Buxton Road, Heaviley, Stockport, a 5 minute walk away. Over the past 29 years we have built a reputation for value and professional service, which, we believe, is second to none. Well over 50% of our business comes from either returning customers or customers recommended to use us by others.
A lot of people still use the word "Lino" - An abbreviation of the word "Linoleum". For those of you interested the word comes from the Latin for Flax (linum) and Oil (Oleum)!. As a GENERAL guide Cushioned Vinyl will USUALLY work out less expensive than Solid Vinyl. This is due to the product USUALLY being more expensive and there is USUALLY more work involved in the fitting process.
We are only too well aware that expert fitting of your carpet is rightly expected as standard. Sadly this is not always the case. All of our fitters are "time served" - by that we mean that they have served a traditional apprenticeship in the craft of carpet fitting. Each of our carpet fitters has more than 20 years carpet fitting experience.
Over the past 29 years Steele's Carpets have fitted carpets in all the districts of Stockport, from Reddish to Woodford and from Cheadle to Compstall. Although we pride ourselves on being a local carpet retailer we've also carpeted houses as far apart as Anglesey to Whitby and from Newcastle to Crawley!
As you would expect with any retailer, by definition, Steele's Carpets core business is selling to the public. We have, however, over the years built up relationships and done work with many commercial or contract clients. I've been a customer of Steele's since 2005 and never go anywhere else for my carpets. The service from Steele's is second to none - it makes the whole process of buying and fitting so much easier. The advice I've had has helped me choose carpets that have lasted for many years. I simply can't fault them.

I used to shop around for carpets but when a chain store let me down and left me without carpet at the last minute, Peter saved the day.
Then I used to shop around and still ended up using Steele’s every time.
8 carpets (6 years and 3 houses!) later and I know I never need to look anywhere else anymore!
Neither do my friends and family that have used him since!
