In 1991, John and Euan MacGregor started the Edinburgh based partnership, J & E MacGregor Plumbers, working out of their office in Corstorphine High Street. Within a short while the ability to do all things gas was added and they became Plumbing and Heating Engineers. During the following years the Partnership grew to the point, where, in 2002 the Company moved to bigger premises in Loanhead, from where we've operated out of since.
Over the years J & E MacGregor has worked hard to establish a good reputation amongst our Customers for all things gas, however, that's not how we started. When the Company was first started we were predominantly plumbers. Our first years in business was learning how to do these little plumbing jobs well.
Although we are also plumbers, J & E MacGregor have worked hard to established a good reputation amongst our Customers for all things gas. We have built a good working knowledge when it comes to gas and have the qualifications and experience to tackle most domestic gas installations, regardless of whether they are big or small.
We offer a full annual boiler service on most makes of gas boiler, at very competitive rates. Need a repair? No problem, all our Engineers are 'Gas Safe' registered, with relevant and current experience in servicing and fault finding gas appliances and systems. If it's a 'Landlord Certificate' or a 'Gas Safety Check' your looking for, we can do these too.
We understand that every situation has its unique contributors, so the advice we give can only be that - advice. However, it may 'buy you some time' to allow you to get someone in to fix it. We have collected together a few hints and tips, that may be useful to you. The aim of this information is give you, the customer, a better understanding of how to cope in an awkward situation.

Euan and his team responded incredibly quickly to a leak in our middle floor bathroom. gabriel came round on time then assessed and diagnosed the problem – day 1. he left, ordered the part and was back a day later to fit it. gabriel did a great job, kept me in the loop the whole time and left the room spotless. it's very impressive.

We had a complicated boiler replacement involving replacing gas pipes across a stone floor in a small business so could not afford to run behind scehdule. Other quotes suggested running pipes around the skirting which we didn't want. J&E MacGregor started and finished in less than 4 days with minimum fuss for such a dirty job and concealed the pipes under the floor. Everything was done to estimate, on time and to a high standard. We have already used them again for another job with exactly the same professional results.
