Barguss Construction is a well-established, family-run firm of building contractors based in Burford, Oxfordshire. We specialise in the restoration, extension, conversion and maintenance of historic and listed buildings, from the smallest of cottages to substantial farmhouses, manor houses, country estates and churches.
We work throughout West Oxfordshire and much of the Cotswolds and it is in these historic towns and villages that we understand the local vernacular and take great pleasure in using the traditional techniques and materials which are sympathetic to the area. As a medium-sized firm we can undertake a variety of works, from routine maintenance, repairs and small extensions, through to projects of several million pounds in value.
Yet each job, no matter how small, is always personally supervised by a company director, who will be your main point of contact throughout any project.

The company was founded by Alan Barguss who, after attending St Paul's School and University College London, came to the Cotswolds in 1971 to take a summer job working with old buildings. He fell in love with the area and stayed, almost immediately going into partnership with an existing building contractor.
We are keen to hear from experienced tradespeople, labourers and apprenticeship candidates who may be interested in a career with Barguss Construction.
