David Stephenson Bespoke Furniture & Joinery
David Stephenson is a Hampshire based furniture designer-maker, specialising in designing and creating unique pieces of bespoke handcrafted freestanding furniture. Using sustainably sourced timber combined with practical design and traditional craftsmanship each piece is made to be loved and designed to last!

David also offers woodworking and furniture making courses & tuition. With a growing selection of one to one short carpentry courses perfect for those wishing to take their first steps exploring the world of woodworking. David's bespoke furniture is commissioned by private and commercial clients around the UK seeking both unique and thoughtful design and high quality craftsmanship.

Each piece of bespoke fine furniture is designed and handmade in David's small, well equipped workshop situated in the historic Test Valley village of Weyhill just outside Andover on the border between Hampshire and Wiltshire.
Services
Originally from Kingston Upon Thames in London, David Stephenson has over 15 years experience working in the wood industry along with a life-long passion for working with timber. David's love of woodworking began at an early age and continued through his time in school.
He loves visitors, and will bounce up to meet them at the door - don't be surprised if a furry face greets you when you arrive! Other than greeting visitors, Monty enjoys "helping" around the workshop (mostly by stealing things and posing for photographs), and supervising from his bed in its prime location in the centre of the workshop.
Today there is a huge amount of very samey mass produced furniture available on the high street and online, the vast majority of which will end up as landfill within a shockingly short number of years, why not have something totally unique, original and made to last instead? As a bespoke furniture designer and maker David Stephenson offers many custom made furniture services.
Are you a complete newbie to workworking or is there a specific skill you want to develop as you progress as a woodworker? This range of one-day courses has been designed with you in mind! These courses are all currently run on a one-to-one basis and can be arranged for a date that suits both parties.
Have you ever wanted to have a go at wood working? Was the last time you touched a hand-tool in the workshop at school? This one day introduction course is the one for you! Designed with the intention of being a gateway to further woodworking experiences, this course will introduce you to the common hand tools and woodworking machinery you are likely to encounter while developing your skills.

Attended a wonderful two day woodworking course with David ( & Monty the dog ) - thank you both. I had a great time & the kids are greatly impressed with my project 3-legged stool. Highly recommended.

My son attended David’s workshop for a day, learning techniques and making a lovely stool from scratch. He very much enjoyed his day and has a new interest in all things woodwork related much better than sitting at a computer game Thank you very much David for your patience and giving my son a very different day out.
