We are the rug specialists, with hand made rugs from Afghan weavers producing pieces which are often taken from old designs, particularly the Zieglers, Kazaks and Aryanas. Persian tribal pieces from Qashqai nomads, or village pieces from Iran with traditional designs and exotic colours.

When a back injury put Jack out of action for some while twenty years later, his wife Margaret and daughter Clare took over running the business. Today it is in Clare's capable hands, with her role including travelling to the East to search for exclusive and beautiful rugs. She also carries out valuations of oriental rugs or carpets, with fees for her work donated to charitable causes in Pakistan and India, which we are actively involved with.
I have been surrounded by oriental rugs since the day I was born (though I don't think I was actually born on a stack of rugs). As a child I was lucky enough to be taken to Turkey on holiday long before it was a key tourist destination, and all I wanted to do was swim in the pool or play on the beach.
The beauty of a rug with a central medallion design will be lost if it's placed under a coffee table or dining table. For these areas, it may be better to choose a rug with an all over design or an interesting border. You will rarely find a matching pair of hand- made rugs so if you want more than one in a room, choose rugs that are complementary.

What a fabulous find in Tewkesbury! This fantastic rug shop has something to offer for everyone and the staff are so lovely and friendly. We found a couple of rugs that we liked but couldn't make up our minds about so we were offered the chance to take them both home to try. Having decided which one, we then asked if they would be able to get a larger size. Nothing was too much trouble and they found the size we wanted. Hard to find a better shop and service in this day and age. Many thanks to the owners and staff.

What stood out for me was the exceptional customer service, the staff took the time to listen to my needs and work through multiple options that would work best for what I was looking for. Be careful if you visit this shop - you will almost certainly buy something. We were on our first visit to Tewksbury from our home in North Yorkshire and were not in the market for a new rug. However, we chanced by Jennings' shop and due to the incredible range of beautiful rugs, together with the very knowledgeable and pleasant staff, we succumbed and bought the most beautiful Kashmir silk rug - I love it.

Absolutely superb service from Jennings rugs. We had in the past bought a rug from them at the shop when we lived in England but now we have emigrated to Ireland (and with travel restrictions in place in addition) going to the shop not an option. Jonathan was very helpful in sorting out the requirements for export to an EU country and the rug got to us quickly and without any problems.
Rug is beautiful (the pictures on the website are very helpful and accurate in showing the colours and patterns).

We have recently purchased a lounge rug from Jennings and we love it. Graham performed his magic and introduced us to a completely different design we would not have considered without his input. The service was first class, allowing us to try 3 rugs at home and seeing them in the room made all the difference. I’ve bought two beautiful large Afghan Kilims from Jennings Rugs. They are both absolutely stunning pieces, works of art. The service has been outstanding. Delivery was very quick and, when I wasn’t sure that I had picked the right rug for one room, the staff were so kind and helpful. Having recently visited Jennings Oriental Rugs, we had the opportunity to view a selection of both Persian and Afghan carpets and rugs which were shown to us by the most engaging and knowledgeable team. After a whole morning, we bought four outstanding rugs to furnish our home (which was long overdue a make over!) Now, months later, we have… constant enjoyment and are thrilled with our purchases.To compliment our carpets and rugs we could not resist the purchase of a Kilim footstool. The shop is full of beautiful and exotic rugs, carpets, lamps, footstools, you name it. I dare you not to become addicted and once you are, you’ll never look at rugs in the same way again.

Jennings is a proper rug shop - as Siblet says, they sell personally-selected quality rugs from all corners of the globe. The prices do match the high quality, but they are certainly worth it. The staff are friendly, and the owner plays an active part in the life of the local community. I haven't come across a rug shop quite like Jennings on my travels, so make sure you pop in.

I feel quite well qualified to write this review as I had a saturday job in Jennings Rug shop as a teenager and was lucky enough to see a bit about how the shop was run etc The main thing to point out is that Jennings only sell good quality rugs so don't be expecting the bargain basement prices you might get through some shops and offers but they are definitely worth the extra cost. For starters they really know there rugs and travel round the world personally selecting them and secondly they will go to any length to make sure you get the right rug including unloading a stack of 100 rugs so
