John Bishop & Associates was formed in 1991 by John Bishop FRICS and Stephen Speight MRICS both Chartered Surveyors and Robert Stevenson BSc. Stephen was the Area Director of Professional Services in Kent and Sussex for Geering and Colyer whilst Robert was the Head of Planning and Development in Kent at the same company.
The aim of the practice was, and remains, to provide valuation and survey advice to major lending institutions and private individuals, to conduct development appraisals, secure planning permissions and local plan allocations, handle the purchase and disposal of land. On occassion, we can cover areas as far out as Rye, Sheerness and Maidstone - please enquire.
The survey and valuation arm continues to value for lending banks and building societies, carries out valuations for matrimonial, probate/inheritance tax and capital gains tax purposes. John Bishop & Associates also act for major developers as part exchange valuers and in recent years has formed an "Expert Witness" Department acting for lending institutions in negligence cases.

RICS Homebuyer Survey and Valuation - This service is delivered in accordance with the Home Survey standard (1st edition) RICS professional statement and is equivalent to level two. The Homebuyer Survey and Valuation report is provided in a standard form created by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - logical in sequence and easy to follow.
John Bishop & Associates offer a high calibre planning consultancy service delivered by Chartered Town Planners Robert Stevenson and Ian Bull. Robert, a Director of the Practice, has fifteen years Local Government experience, mostly at senior levels, together with thirty years experience in private practice.
