Over two decades Squirrel Design have been featured on Grand Designs, the Channel 4 TV programme. The show presents projects of architectural merit, innovation and creativity. Nice company to be in and of course a source of great pride within our practice. Under certain circumstances it allows new homes to be built in the countryside.
We were featured on the programme with an innovative design encompasing a low budget approach, a building within planning height and site constraints and simple construction. The Channel 4 TV programme, Grand Designs featured Squirrel Design, our client and construction professionals building this innovative dwelling - afforded the affectionate nickname, 'The Miami Beach House'.
Channel 4's TV programme, Grand Designs featured the Hux Shard project on the outskirts of Exeter, Devon. Squirrel Design had the amazing opportunity to design this innovative dwelling for our clients and collaborated with a team of talented construction, landscape and ecology professionals to realise this stunning sculptural home.
As leader of the design team my role has been to harness the skills and experience of the members and use them to shape and mould the embryonic concept into an exciting, innovative, yet highly functional building of outstanding architectural merit. I truly enjoy working with the team and client to transform our dreams and aspirations into reality.
