Our Station road showroom is now back to normal opening hours which is 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4:30pm on a Friday and 9am to 12:30pm on Saturdays. Salter Heating Services began as a family company in the late 1970s, concentrating on plumbing, boiler and central heating system installations. Although based in Chepstow, we were soon working across the old county of Gwent and the Forest of Dean. Upper Nelson Street in Chepstow became our first premises and as our workforce grew we moved homes, with several stops around Station Road and School Hill.
We offer boiler installations from brands such as Veissman, Valliant, Glowworm, Worcester, Grant and Trianco; our experience means we can advise on the best boiler for your system, lifestyle and budget. For larger works our free, no-obligation on-site quotations are offered during working hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
A customer had moved in to a new property and asked us to quote for a new central heating system. From the initial survey we found an antiquated oil boiler which failed to comply with regulations and was also very inefficient. The system also had an oil tank in the integrity of the building which was a huge fire risk.
Our engineers are qualified through OFTEC, Gas Safe and HETAS to work with oil, gas, LPG and solid fuel. Many of our engineers have been with us since their apprenticeships and are experienced tradesmen who receive regular training. Our team can service oil, gas, LPG and solid fuel boilers and central heating systems, plus solar heating systems.

The lads from Salter Heating recently fitted a log burner and an unvented hot water system for me. Simon and Ryan did a fantastic job and were very friendly, trustworthy and pleasant to have in the house for the 5 days they were here. They were very accommodating to my requests of where to route pipes and place components to best suit the resoration we are undertaking and always cleared up after themselves leaving the place cleaner than when they found it.

I had an old Vaillant boiler which began to make a dreadful noise. A young man from Salters came and could not at all find out what it was, spending a deal of time on the phone to his company and to the manufacturers. This resulted in my gradually spending EIGHT HUNDRED POUNDS on new parts and the problem was not fixed then.
The straw that finally broke the camel's back was a brief visit from Shiny shoes of the office, who went around making useless remarks about gas piping, showing complete disinterest in refunding for the new parts, disinterested in the fact that their customer was out of pocket

We went to Classic Stoves for our first wood burning stove . The team were really helpful and took time to understand what we needed. Their expertise was evident and we were confident that they were the best choice for our fire, pricing was very competitive too. The team installed it quickly and tidily (!) all in time for the start of the colder weather - now we're looking forward to colder nights and the warmth of our wood burner!
