J W Surveys Ltd was recommended to me by a friend, as a company of truly independent surveyors. Joe's report was very thorough, detailed and clearly written. I was given the opportunity to comment on the first draft and the few aspects that I did not fully understand were clarified or elaborated on in the final version. The report arms me with the knowledge I need prior to obtaining builder's quotes. Most importantly, it prevents me from falling foul of the widespread rising damp 'scam'.

Thorough and detailed, but easy to understand, our report not only highlighted various defects in the property we were taking on, but was very reassuring in recommending how to deal with them. Just as impressive was the after-service: months after the survey was carried out, Joe is still fielding questions from both us and our builders on the best way to go about rectifying the problems he identified. Having received a RICs survey report identifying potential 'rising damp', I reached out to JWSurveys for a more thorough investigation. Joe conducted the inspection in a timely manner, isolating his attention to the suspected damp issue at the property. The report was well-referenced and all findings were evidenced. Joe was also available to answer any questions I had and provide clarity on the findings and practical advice as to next steps. Joe from JWSurveys came to do an evaluation of our 200yr old farmhouse after we'd had some alarming survey reports whilst having it on the market for sale. He was very approachable, friendly and wonderfully sensible in evaluating the house and where it's problems were. We were able to embark on a renovation path which was removing 50+ years of works which had all been 'improvements' but were in fact detrimental to the fabric of the house and were in fact massively contributing to it's current problems. He has been very helpful in answering questions from our builders in the best way to go about
