Based in Leeds, but working across Yorkshire including Harrogate and York, we work across all elements of home renovation from the design and planning of major building work like extensions and loft conversions all the way through to the interior design and final decor. Each project we work on is different so we provide a cost per project or we also work on an hourly or daily rate.
Fresh Start Living was founded in 2018 by Beth and Jon Miller, a husband and wife team based in Leeds. Having spent the past 15 years designing and renovating properties in our 'spare time' we thought we would use our acquired skills, knowledge and genuine passion for home improvement to help others make the most of their homes.
Based in Leeds but covering Yorkshire and beyond, we offer interior design services that enable you to create a home that is individual to you. Some people want to hand over responsibility for the full interior design process, whilst others just need a bit of inspiration and help with ideas, so we tailor our approach to suit you.
Lots of us are looking to extend our homes to create more space. We are here to help you make the most of your home by designing the right extensions for you, whether that's a rear or side extension, single or double storey, loft conversions or basement conversions. Like all our projects, we tailor our services to meet your needs, but offer the services below.
Sometimes the space is already there, it just needs reconfiguring or some changes to the flow. Each project we work on is different so we can provide a cost per project or we also work on an hourly or daily rate. As a rough guide, the cost for these services would usually range from 1,000-2,000 depending on the number of floors and complexity.

Fresh Start Living have recently helped us to enhance an existing lost conversion and we are delighted with the results. We wanted to transform what was a little used spare bedroom and unused separate bathroom (with no natural light) into a master bedroom with en suite. We knew we needed to add a dormer to improve the head height, and had some ideas about how we wanted it, but Jon and Beth took those basics and helped us at every stage from considering floor plan options, creating a specification and seeking the right builders, through to the interior design and product sourcing.

Beth & Jon were absolutely wonderful to work with to plan our new kitchen. They offered a wide menu of services, including full interior design, product sourcing and project management, but were really happy to support us with a smaller-scale project of designing the layout of our new kitchen. They were really efficient, and extremely patient with us when we came back several times requesting changes in the layout!
In the end they have created a great flow for the kitchen that accommodated our heritage furniture, idiosyncratic Victorian house, our own taste and the needs of our young family. A

We instructed Jon & Beth to help us best configure the ground floor layout whilst also adding an open plan kitchen extension. They listened to our needs and produced several options for our consideration in 2D & 3D which, really helped visualise the designs. We also instructed them to assit us obtain quotes which they did. We are looking forward to seeing the designs materialise once the work is done.

John and Beth brought some much-needed experience and clarity to our project. We wanted to completely refurbish and re-configure the ground floor around the views at the rear of the house. They were instrumental in providing a layout that suited our young family and creating the colour plalette that brough the colours from outside in.
Nothing was too much effort, they were always on hand to help or offer some advice when it was needed and we highly recommended them.

Beth was very approachable and listened to my ideas before coming up with some great suggestions to redesign our playroom. Very efficient
and sent through fabric ideas as well as suitable furniture to go in the room.

We had a vague idea of how we wanted to re-model our house but didn’t really know where to start. We had three small, dark rooms running along the back of our house, the kitchen, family and dining rooms. Jon and Beth listened to our wish list and created a design to completely open up the back of the house. As well as knocking through, new glazing has given us better views and access to the garden and much more light. The new design moved the kitchen form one side of the house to the other, something we would not have thought of. The new design has completely changed the way we live in our home

I am considering downsizing into a "compact" flat and was looking for ideas on how I could possibly remodel the interior to make it somewhere I could live in for the long term. Jon took the trouble visit my current larger house, then came up with a number of creative ideas for the flat, including some I don't think I would ever have thought of myself. We found Fresh Start by chance and glad we did.From start to finish Beth was friendly professional and on time! We sort of knew what we wanted for our Lounge refurbishment but Beth introduced ideas we hadn’t thought of pushed us colour choices and we now have the sleek contemporary space we were after. Jon and Beth worked closely with us on a project to convert a former garage/storage space/utility room into a bedroom and accessible bathroom, whilst creating a combined laundry room and office space in an existing room.
They offered some good suggestions at the start of the project which changed our original plans for the better, created floor plans, mood boards, product lists, sourced trades and collated quotes. They remained involved throughout the project, helping to smooth the odd issue as the project progressed, and we're very pleased with the end result.
