My career in Horticulture has spanned over a decade, working in a variety of roles. 4 years was spent at the historic gardens at Cricket St Thomas, Somerset where I worked my way up to the position of Head Gardener. I bring those skills now into domestic houses and gardens.
I have complimented the hands on experience with formal qualifications including RHS Level 2 Principles of Horticulture, and a separate Diploma in Horticulture studied at the famous East Lambrook Manor, home of the late Margery Fish.To break my outlook down to it's most simple form, I am pro wildlife, pro nature.
I feel that a garden should be created and cared for with these things in mind, and we should not harm our natural word just so that we can have something that looks pretty. My professionaI garden maintenance service is aimed at clients who place a high value on their garden and want someone who knows what they are doing to care for it. Whilst I can offer the more basic elements of garden maintenance, my skills and experience are often more value for money when a finer approach is desired.

Excellent service, pruning a very unruly wisteria. Simon's knowledge is great and we were very confident to follow his recommendations which seemed a little drastic, but the end result looks like it'll be fab in spring when the wisteria flowers. Good value for money as well.

I contacted Simon regarding the pruning of an out-of-control wisteria having discovered his site via a web search. He responded very quickly, requested information of the job, together with photos and a video. He came back to me within 24 hours with a price and actually came to do the work within a week.
He arrived when he said he would, did an excellent job and cleared up everything as well.

We are very pleased with the service that Simon provided. We have recently moved house and, as we are not gardeners, we needed help with our new garden. In line with our brief he undertook some expert pruning, identified and listed all the plants that we have and has helped us develop an annual plan so that we can keep everything in good order. He was prompt and pleasant and left the garden areas very clean and tidy.

We cannot recommend Simon Land highly enough. He is currently undertaking a redesign of our garden and he is a pleasure to work with. Simon is very knowledgable and incredibly hard working. We have collaborated with him on choice of plants and trees, taking his great recommendations on-board.
