Barton Grange Garden Centre
Eleven weeks later, the Garden Centre was officially opened by HRH Princess Anne. And, as an independent, family run business, we're totally committed to the old-fashioned ideas of friendly customer service and good, solid advice. The Garden Centre is part of the Barton Grange Group, owned and run by the Topping family from Barton near Preston. The group of companies dates back to 1945 when Mr and Mrs Edward Topping bought a small manor house on the A6 at Barton with plans to turn it into a hotel.

Over 65 years later, the Group now includes not only the planned hotel, but the award-winning Barton Grange Garden Centre, a successful landscaping business, three large plant nurseries, a marina on the Lancaster Canal and more recently, The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre which is a leisure complex offering premium entertainment, dining and leisure facilities.

Whatever the time of year, you can guarantee that our greenhouse will be full of colour. Here we keep our seasonal plants, for filling baskets and containers and brightening up borders, whatever the season. With pansies, violas and cyclamen, bulbs 'in the green' and masses of summer bedding, there is always something bright and beautiful to add to your garden.
Here, you can turn your garden into an outdoor room, where you can relax, unwind, eat, drink and entertain. It's safe to say our garden furniture is is not 'run of the mill' - we've selected some really stylish and often unusual suites to give your garden a truly individual look.

TL;DR - Fantastic, top of the line garden centre.

We love a garden centre, and Barton Grange combines lots of the best bits:
- It's big, so there's plenty to look at and choose from.
- It's got great catering options, with both a self service cafe and table service restaurant.
- It's got plenty of car parking.
- It's got a fantastic farm shop attached.
- The prices are really reasonable.

There are a few other things which really set the place apart though. I love the fact that the cafe is next to a river, so you can sit and watch the water run past over cake and coffee

Lovely store great food and very helpful staff. Although some things are overpriced there are some lovely things to buy for home and garden and I love the activities for children that take place from time to time.

Very large and very posh garden centre with an appropriate price tag. Vast range of products including a large cook shop with everything from Denby to Jamie Oliver. Huge selection of plants both indoor and outdoor and all the associated sundries large and small. One nice touch they have is an information department in the midst of all the plants, handy for less expert gardeners and far easier than trudging around with a plant in hand trying to find a member of staff in such a large establishment. Gifts, garden furniture, lighting, barbecues etc. etc. There's a choice of two places to eat;
