B Pearce Chimney Sweeps
Bryan Pearce of B PEARCE CHIMNEY SWEEPS is from a long established family of chimney sweeps reputed to have been in the trade for over three hundred years. Specialist super flexible nylon rods have superseded Malacca cane, brush and shovel are now assisted by high efficiency modern vacuum cleaners to remove loose soot quickly and efficiently to keep you chimneys and flues as clean, safe and as efficient as possible.

Advice is given freely during my visit on any problems noted and how to keep your chimney working as intended. Since the advent of the chimney to take away smoke and the products of combustion, it has been necessary to regularly remove soot and tar, to reduce the risks of a chimney fire and keep the flue working efficiently.

A build up of soot can block the flue and cause down draft or failure. BS 6461- recommends that, under no circumstances, should chimney sweeping be carried out less frequently than once a year. Where a flue is being taken out of use, either temporarily or permanently, sweeping the flue can reduce the risk of falling debris and assist in keeping it ventilated.
Services
Bryan Pearce is from a family with a long history in the chimney sweeping trade, going back many generations in South East London and Kent, from around the start of the 19th century and prior to that in the West Country. The Pearce family have reputedly been in the trade for over 300 years. We take pride in our work, delivering a fantastic service to all of our customers, which is why we have built up such a great reputation.
B Pearce Chimney Sweeps specialise traditional chimney sweeping, diagnosing and solving chimney related issues including the removal of birds / squirrel nests and more problematic blockages. I do not diversify into building works and repairs and the advantage is that I can give you impartial advice on what works you may wish to instruct with your own builder.
Since pagan times, the images of fire and the hearth have been associated with luck - when a new bride inherited the fire irons, she symbolically inherited a home and a new family. It's because of his blackened face and his relationship with hearths and fires that the chimney sweep carries the luck with him where ever he goes, and when you meet him, his luck rubs off onto you.

Excellent service. The team arrived on time. The guys were friendly, professional and efficient. They gave our chimney a thorough clean and vacuum, and left the area spotless. They advised us on how often to sweep the flue, the correct fuel to burn, etc. We will definitely use the company again.

Didn't show up for scheduled appointment. I have been waiting weeks for this appointment. Asked for reminder, if possible, as a footnote,
He then took it upon himself to decide that I would not remember the appointment. Couldn't be bothered to call or email and confirm. .
Was very rude when I phoned up to ask where they were. after waiting 2 hours for them to show up.

Bryan was brilliant. First time having our stove and flue cleaned and nervous about the potential mess. I was assured there would be none and I was pleasantly surprised :) Clean, fast, friendly and an absolute pleasure to meet. Look forward to our yearly meets. Thank you.

Mr Pearce was affable. He arrived on time with clean up-to-date equipment and did a quick, professional and tidy job. All for a very reasonable price. Additionally, he took considerable extra time to provide detailed a chimney draft test and advised on the cleaned chimney and another fireplace, all free of charge. I find it difficult to see how he could have provided a better service.
