Kirbys Roofing (Widnes) Ltd is a family firm, established in 1970 and directly employing qualified, experienced operatives. We are members of "Trustmark", the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and approved installers of the Polyroof Fibreglass roofing system, the Firestone Residential EPDM rubber roofing system, RubberBond EPDM roofing Systems and Thortex liquid roofing systems.
Due to the demands of health & safety, and other regulations, Kirbys Roofing Ltd employs health & safety consultants to advise and update us on all health and safety issues. This system also produces Safety Policies, Risk Assessments and hazard identification under COSHH Regulations for materials that we use.
Kirbys Roofing Ltd are proud to be a member of the THE COMPETENT ROOFER SCHEME endorsed by the Government. It is a legal requirement that substantial roof refurbishment is notified to the Local Authority. This is to ensure that the work complies with current Building Regulations. Failure to do so could lead to prosecution and a fine of up to 5000.00.
Bitumen has been used as a flat roof covering since the time of the Romans. There is a reason for this, when installed properly bitumen is completely water tight, flexible and very long lasting. We undertake traditional pour and roll application. Lightweight, strong and durable, GRP roofing systems can take foot traffic and accommodate any movement that naturally occurs in buildings.
We are approved installers of Topseal GRP fibreglass flat roofs and are able to offer our customers a long term flat roofing solution to their leaking flat roof issues. Topseal GRP fibreglass flat roofs are guaranteed for at least 25 years, are completely seamless and offer a much greater waterproof protection than a conventional bitumen based flat roof.

I phoned Kirbys roofing about fixing a botched roof. I spoke to a Lady who was very helpful. She explained they were very busy and could not get to me until April. She was very sympathetic and said she would get someone out as soon as she could. You just know you are talking to a reputable company who are honest and upfront. I just wish I had done my research better and gone with Kirbys in the 1st place rather than a friends recommendation.

This is the second time I've used Kirby's, the first was about 35 years ago, and what they fixed then is still good to this day!
This new job only looked small - a couple of loose dry verges. On the day of the job Alan rang ahead to let me know when he was coming. I could tell from the noises on the roof that it was in fact a bigger job (stripping back tiles and new battens) despite this I was only asked for the price originally agreed.
The roof looks great now, this is an honest long established local company, I'd have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

We also suffered the cyclone in Widnes in December. Fortunately I've used Kirbys before and talked to Alan Kirby so I knew who to ring to get a proper professional job. Pictures attached. I wouldn't hesitate to use Kirbys again. Guys on site were great, both doing the scaffolding and fixing the roof. So:
Quality: Very good.
Value: When I look at the photos of the damage, see the amount of scaffold required and look at how many men were on site at different times, I think I've been charged a proper rate for a professional job so no worries over value for money.

10th December 2019 we experienced cyclone winds in Widnes. This resulted in lots of damage to our roof. The morning after I contacted Alan at Kirby roofing and thankfully he was able to call within the hour. Urgent emergency repairs were performed, including photographs of the damage for insurance purposes. As soon as possible after this a date was set to complete the repairs necessary to the roof. Throughout, Alan and his team were amazing. Their workmanship and skill of a very high standard. Experience stood out. Cost, quality and communication were all outstanding. Worth every penny.
