The late James "Jim" Clubb Snr MBE founded the company in 1930. Jim remained Chairman until his passing in 2003 at the ripe age of 95. Even in his late years he still retained an interest in the development of the business and enjoyed visiting the quarries. Jim Clubb will be remembered widely and respected as a colourful character who built a successful business but made a major contribution to the community in return.
Our current fleet of truck mixers is made up of eleven 8 wheelers and our fleet of tippers is made up of seven 8 wheelers and two artics. Our vehicles are replaced on a regular cycle enabling us to keep engine emissions and configuration to the latest Euro 6 standard. We follow the Minerals Products trade association best practice with regard to health and safety particularly cyclists and the public together with on- site procedures.
The company fully accepts and recognizes its duty of care towards all stakeholders with regard to Health & Safety responsibilities. A dedicated team is employed to focus on compliance with legislation and the latest methods of "best practice" to ensure that our employees and the community are safe when in contact with our business.
We are a member of the Quarry Products Association where environmental responsibility is taken seriously, making restoration of quarries and minerals sites a matter of pride. Members compete annually for prestigious restoration awards that demonstrate a company's ability. Many years ago the industry had a poor reputation for not restoring quarries to an acceptable after use and despoiled land was often a feature of mineral extraction.

JCL has restored quarries to a variety of after uses from agricultural land to wildlife habit and recreational lakes.
