Chim-Me-Sweep
Established in 1981 we are a traditional chimney sweep company that uses both old and new methods to clean and maintain your chimney, keeping you warm and safe. We are a third generation chimney sweep company, with our current sweep being Registered with HETAS and APICS as well as having 36 years experience in sweeping and chimney building.

We use traditional rods and brushes, using a vacuum that is designed just for chimney sweeping. We can help with rebuilding and repointing your chimney as well as fitting new chimney pots and providing protection from birds and solving damp problems. We can also install new fireplaces and stoves, reopen disused chimneys and provide, CCTV reports, testing and insurance work.

If you need any work doing on your chimney, then get in touch with our friendly team today. Carbon Dioxide alarm has gone off: open windows and doors to vent the area, safely put your fire out or turn the gas off, call your gas engineer or chimney sweep to investigate why the alarm went off, do NOT relight your appliance until it has been given the all clear.

It's important to have your chimney swept regularly. We encourage having your chimney swept at least twice a year when burning wood or bituminous house coal and at least once a year when burning smokeless fuels. The best times to have your chimney swept are just before the start of the heating season and after your stove has not been used over a prolonged period.
The best wood burning stoves will not only offer a great solution for heating your home, but can add character too. Wood burning stoves are increasingly popular with homeowners due to the comfort they provide and the characterful focal point they can bring to a home. Today's wood burning stoves are highly efficient and reduce reliance on fossil fuels for domestic heating.
Birds find chimneys an ideal place to set up home owing to the warmth and shelter that they provide. Sometimes birds who are resting or nesting on top of the chimney wander inside, leaving themselves helpless and unable to fly back up to escape. Once a bird has slipped off the edge of the chimney pot and fallen even a few inches, it can't fly up again, there is not enough room to spread its wings, nor can they fly vertically.
Carbon Monoxide is a KILLER (Children and Babies are more susceptible to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning) so please have a carbon monoxide alarm fitted in the room that is burning Coal, Wood or Gas. Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs when carbon monoxide builds up in your bloodstream. When too much carbon monoxide is in the air, your body replaces the oxygen in your red blood cells with carbon monoxide.
