Very much involved in the renovation of his mid-Victorian home, including the interior design and furnishing, David had a clear picture of the style he wanted to achieve.
Established over 20 years ago, bespoke kitchen manufacturer Davonport, out grew their existing premises and relocated their production and showroom to a 1.2 acre site in Colchester. Working within a specified budget we were tasked with selecting a range of tiles and wood flooring to compliment eight new executive homes, with easy access to the River Blackwater.
To complement the style and age of this period property with its beautiful panoramic views over the river Blackwater, the client wanted an aged mixed size natural Limestone. Following the building of a beautiful double height glass sunroom, the client was determined to find a floor that maintained the light open feel to the room.

A year spent travelling before returning to the UK to carry on our respective careers in wood flooring and tiles, convinced us that we should work together. In 2012, our appetite to satisfy this shared ambition led us to combine our knowledge and experience to form Eden Clay, and open our first store dedicated to our two favourite products.
We welcome all of our clients to our showroom where they can view over 2500 square feet of wood flooring and tiles on display. Our showroom is accessed by private driveway, that leads to ample parking directly in front of our barn. With samples available to take away, knowledgeable staff on hand for exceptional advice, and exceptional coffee, why would you not visit?
Every wood floor that leaves our warehouse is designed and hand finished by a member of our staff here in the UK. With over 150 wood floors in our portfolio, that's a lot of hand finishing. Producing our wood flooring this way not only gives us great control of the final finish, but it also gives our staff unparalleled levels of experience in hand making wood floors that we put to use creating bespoke pieces.

We love our engineered oak wooden flooring which was supplied and fitted by Eden Clay in January 2020 at a very reasonable price. They took great care in helping us to match the flooring that we had in mind and were very accommodating when we needed to re-schedule our installation. The fitters worked efficiently, causing minimum disruption and tidying up at the end of each day. The floor looks beautiful and feels great underfoot. A year on we have experienced no problems whatsoever (having been stung previously by a cheaper contractor we have something to compare them with). We can wholeheartedly

I'm thrilled to bits with my new wooden floor from Eden Clay. From my initial conversation with Andrew, through to my finished floor, the whole process has been a joy. The show room is great and Andrew was really helpful. Mike, who fitted my floor was lovely. He always left the room very tidy with no mess at all. I can't recommend Eden Clay highly enough.
