Armstrongs Group
Operating from 5 quarries across the North West and Cumbria, Armstrongs is a reliable supplier of all forms of stone material from rock armor or cut dimension stone down to aggregate, sand or dust. Our quarries produce attractive shades of sandstone, with the exception of Shap in Cumbria which is the home of the famous Shap pink granite, all with good reserves to ensure continuity of supply.

The company has extensive sawing capabilities and can produce any form of cut stone requested from bricks to a solid stone ball, nameplates to fireplaces. We also supply high-quality ready mixed concrete through our Amix subsidiary, using our granite product to maximise strength. Our locations are within easy reach of the region's motorways, enabling us to supply aggregate throughout the north of England, northern Midlands and Wales.
Services
The Armstrongs values are shared right across the group and are instrumental in all that we do to underpin the success of the business. First and foremost we must ensure that we do things right, operating under a strict umbrella of Safety and Responsibility ensuring that no individual is ever placed at undue risk.
Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds, offering differing skills and expertise that blend together to present great solutions and service. We believe that people deal with people they like, and we will always go out of our way to ensure that you come back to us time after time. We live in the communities that we serve and take great pride in helping to develop both the infrastructure and amenities within those areas.
Our transport fleet has grown immensely over recent years, and continual investment by the Armstrong Group ensures we maintain maximum efficiency and reliability, whilst also meeting our environmental commitments. Our fleet of Wagons consist wholly of Scania's who offer excellent service and product to the Group, and we are proud to have worked alongside them for a number of years.
Brinscall Quarry covers 40 acres near the town of Chorley and has been operational in excess of one hundred years. This quarry produces a highly desirable and attractive sandstone that can be used as a building stone, including the present work on the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona.
Shap Quarry covers a 53-acre site near the village of Shap and has been in operation since 1950. It is the home of Shap pink granite, a widely-used decorative building stone. The site yields two types of stone; light Shap primarily worked as aggregate whereas dark Shap tends to be used architecturally.

Steve Ballard should receive employee of the year. My friend and I were walking at 7.45am up Old Kiln Lane and there were tissues strewn all over the pavement, on the fences and trees and it looked a mess. Steve got out of his vehicle and gathered them all up putting them in the path of his road-sweeper which swept them up. Definitely going above and beyond leaving the landscape beautiful again. Thank you Steve for keeping Bolton clean 😊

Worst company to work for they think they own you. No compassion for employees who have family. Tell them no they sack you for gross misconduct. There disciplinary process is in favour of those who bend over backwards for them.

Their drivers need to slow down, when travelling from their Waddington fell quarry to Clitheroe, mainly on the inner bypass near Tesco's and Homebase, Ribblesdale School and Ribblesdale Nursery. Way to fast!!!!

The Public Footpath of the Road next to the security hut Does your security own this path ? because they have no right coming out and moaning at who can and can't use that path... Stored anymore waste in your Quarry lately ?

Armstrong's are an excellent company with strong values. Daniel is super lovely. He gave us a tour of the yard and the stone shed. They do some incredible stuff with stone from fireplaces to cut stone signs. Take a look on their website at the incredible work they do. You can even get concrete or aggregate from there too!

Fantastic service and urgent attention to detail. John provided a fast solution (overnight) to a trespass problem on our site and a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend - Thanks to the Armstrongs team.
