One of the seven wonders of the world, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon; is a legend steeped in mystique and wonder, passed down through the generations.
Considered an architectural masterpiece, the beautiful Babylonian gardens got their name from their different levels and tiers, hanging plants, cascading flowers, trees and foliage. The different levels, canopies and draping greenery was such a breathtaking unique creation, stories of which were told for thousands of years to come.
It is believed that the gardens were originally built next to a grand palace, dubbed The Marvel of Mankind, for Queen Amytis (around 562BC) who was said to have missed the green lush mountains and valleys of her homeland.
