Britannia Goodwins began in 1935, and have been providing quality, secure and professional removals and storage to Staffordshire and Cheshire ever since. Stoke on Trent is the home of the pottery industry in Britain, Michelin tyres in the UK, as well as being the birthplace of Robbie Williams, Slash from Guns n Roses, and Lemmy of Motorhead. Halfway between Manchester and Birmingham, it is a perfectly placed location for commuters to those cities and Stafford.
The lovely market town of Uttoxeter and the surrounding area attracts people from across the region, and we can understand why! We know how important your removal is to your life, and we want to make your removal as smooth as possible. Newcastle-under-Lyme is a market town with a history dating back to the 12th century. Although close to Stoke-on-Trent, it refused all attempts to be included in the town when formed and subsequent attempts. Named, most likely, after a new castle in the 12th century and the lime trees that populated the nearby area of the Forest of Lyme during mediaeval times.
Congleton is just 20 miles from Manchester, making it a perfect spot for commuters to Manchester as well as Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, its roots are believed to go back to Neolitic period, and was once known for selling its bible to buy a new bear for bear-baiting contests in the 1600s.

We had John, Ian, Anthony, Alan, Matt, Rob and Kieran. We were moving from the Midlands to near Winchester. They could not have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating. We had very difficult access and parking at both ends which they successfully negotiated without any complaint. They also managed to load and offload an upright piano on what I can only describe as near impossible conditions with no damage and significant skill and professionalism.

Excellent service from Paul, Alan & Anthony. They never stopped moving often nearly running to get the next boxes. We had 17 years worth of baggage to move and lots that were still to be boxed. These guys never moaned once and went beyond in our opinion. We would not hesitate to use them again and would recommend them. Thank you the whole ordeal & stress of moving has been faultless throughout.

In July, Clive, Lee, Alan, Dan and Gareth moved us from Mow Cop into their storage facility in Stafford. The team worked tirelessly for two days. Nothing was too much trouble, everything ran smoothly and great care was taken with all our possessions. In October the team of Dan, Ant, Rob and Darren moved us from storage to Wilmslow. We received the same professional service from this team. Matt from the office was also very helpful and we will be using Goodwin’s again in the near future. Highly recommendable service from all concerned.

Goodwins moved us from Stafford to Sutton Coldfield on Friday, and they were excellent. Paul, Alan, Anthony and Dan arrived at 8am and worked incredibly hard all day - they worked quickly and efficiently, they took very good care of our possessions and nothing was damaged. We were in by 4.30pm with 3 beds having been reassembled and a selection of heavy/complicated items items into the garage safely - and we were all still smiling! Highly recommended and better price than all local competitors. Head office staff (especially Matt) also excellent and very responsive.

Our experience with Britannia Goodwins was, in a word, fantastic. It was the first time we've used a removals company so we were a little apprehensive and unsure of what to expect, but we were so pleased with every aspect of the whole process. Booking was painless, even with ongoing uncertainty about our move date. For the actual move, Paul, Alan, Anthony and Gareth were friendly, professional, and incredibly respectful, I honestly can't praise them enough. They're clearly a strong team who enjoy working together! We opted for the packing service and they took excellent care of our possessions

These guys were brilliant from start to finish !!! Matthew did us a remote quote & when our solicitors messed up the moving date, Britannia helped us out by putting our furniture into storage instead. A big shout out to Paul & Alan our delivery guys, they were fantastic !!! We were lucky enough to have them both pick up & deliver our furniture. They were so hard working & professional, nothing was too much trouble !!! Best of all they had a great sense of humour !! The whole experience has been faultless & can’t recommend these guys high enough !! Thank you to everyone with whom we dealt with

John, Alan and Rob moved us and our house + plants from North Manchester to Hereford over 2 days. They were prompt to arrive, provided a very efficient service and worked extremely hard to ensure that our possessions arrived safely. All were very approachable and responsive to any request, remained polite and good humoured throughout. We felt safe with them and their service delivery. Goodwin's have been fabulous. Utterly professional, very responsive and quick to respond when I had to make various last minute amendments and changes along the way. The lads (Clive and Gaz) were so helpful and friendly during the move - making sure everything was wrapped properly and they were particularly careful to ensure nothing got damaged. They really did help to reduce the stress of the move. I couldn't have asked for more. Goodwin's are consummate professionals and I couldn't rate them highly enough.

The service we received from beginning to end was fantastic. We had a FaceTime quotation done. The price was very competitive. On the day the 4 men arrived promptly. They were all very friendly, helpful, polite and worked in a timely fashion.
They emptied our house and moved us in to our new one without a hitch. Extremely grateful for all they did for us.
Moving house is so stressful, they really helped alleviate some of the stresses about the physical moving part.
Highly recommend and if we ever move again we would have no hesitation on using Goodwins again.

What a great group of people, the team which moved us were absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and all were very polite. We self packed but the odd delicate item pack by Britannia on the day all survived the move. Not a single item damaged. There was a garden item which weighed an absolutely ton (tonne) one of the young men asked if we were taking it.....we said not was far too heavy, next minute he was heading towards the van with it. 11/10. Would use them again.😎
