Block paving comes in a variety of patterns and colours from standard blocks through to decorative, tumbled and special applications. This versatile, hard-wearing surface is resistant to oil or petrol spillage and doesn't fade in sunlight. It's now available in a wide range of colours and patterns.

A cost-effective method of surfacing larger areas, tarmac surfaces are applied hot and can be laid over an existing tarmac or concrete surface. Correct preparation of the surface is essential to achieving a long lasting, pleasing appearance.
Services
Doughty Contracting are experts in all types of ground work. We have worked on many projects in London and throughout the Home Counties, including extensive structural repairs to Waterloo Bridge and the installation of a new ventilation shaft in the Strand Underpass.
At the heart of all building and construction work is a solid foundation. So whether you are planning to build a new house, add an extension, perhaps build a garage or erect some retaining walls, it's essential to ensure the groundwork is of the highest quality.
There are many different types of tarmac, with different aggregates in different sizes and various types of binders in different colours. A tarmac surface is laid whilst hot and viscous, then levelled and compacted as quickly as possible. When it cools, it sets and each particle becomes bound to its neighbour.
Block paving comes in such a variety of patterns and colours it can be difficult to settle on the right look. The first choice is whether to opt for clay bricks, concrete blocks or natural stone block paving. Then what colour to chose? Red, blue or natural? Should the surface be multi-coloured or just one?
This versatile surface is increasingly popular for both indoor and external use. The basic premise is that a decorated or coloured gravel is 'glued' to an existing solid surface by means of a transparent or coloured resin. The result is an extremely hard-wearing surface, that is resistant to weeds and relatively low maintenance.
