Services
Coping Stones are masonry blocks that sit on the top of a wall or cap off a roof. At South Coast Stonework we can PRODUCE ANY SIZE coping stone. Twice weathered (With Apex). Also depending on what kind of look you are after we offer a flat sided coping, Chamfered Edge Coping or several types of Decorative Edge Coping.
We can produce window sills in ANY LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT and DEPTH, but for delivery purposes would recommend making the sill in two halves if the length exceeds 1400mm. The maximum length window sill we would recommend is 1400mm in length. Making the sill in halve means we can produce any length. Sills made in half come with a left hand and right hand section.
South Coast Stone can produce lintils in ANY LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT and DEPTH, Sizes shown here are from our standard range and are existing moulds that we have. For delivery purposes, we recommend having any lintils exceeding 1600mm made in half. If customer is willing to collect then the maximum length can be up to 2600mm, as long as the dimensions comply to Industry standard.
Quoins are masonry blocks at the corner of a wall. They exist in some cases to provide actual strength for a wall made with inferior stone or rubble, and in other cases to make a feature of a corner, creating an impression of permanence and strength, and reinforcing the onlooker's sense of a structure's presence.
We can produce Custom length steps up to 1000mm, but our standard sizes are listed here. Corner Steps can be produced at an additional cost by adding the relevant bullnose on to the side required. Just supply us with base measurements and we will work out the rest. When ordering steps please make sure you know the following.

Ordered from this company in May with a 9 week lead in. Stupidly paid in full.
They got in touch end June to say they would be a week late.
The goods never arrived. They wouldn't give me a new date saying they had lots of other orders to do first. Eventually managed to get someone to call me as they stopped answering the phone. Turned out they had not even started on my £2k order.
Got legal advice and after a bit of to and froing they agreed to refund me. It took 2 more weeks for the refund to come through.
If you want stonework go elsewhere. If you want to store your money somewhere without

I ordered some coping stones and received them just after 4 weeks which was well ahead of the original 6-7 weeks i was told to expect. The stones are perfect, a great product. I would not hesitate to recommend South Coast Stonework. I would like to add that some of the reviews during the covid lockdown are now out of date, whatever problems this company had have gone away. Brilliant service.

Avoid this company, I wish it was possible to give minus stars. They take your money, promise a delivery date then continually lie thereafter. I was quoted 8 weeks when ordering, after 19 weeks and constant lies I asked for a refund which I was told in writing that it would be sent 11th December and over 1 month later still nothing. They are still quoting 8 weeks on their message service, that's a measure of their deceit. I have reported them to Trading standards, please read their reviews, lots of other customers have had the same experience that I have had. This company should not be in business

Very frustrating. Looking at the reviews it seems I'm not alone. Goods promised by James for last week, then told the delivery would be this week on Thursday. It is now close of play on Friday 21 June and still no goods and no answer to emails or replies to phone calls. Please can I have a realistic delivery date for ALL of the products ordered and paid for. It sounds like you could resolve all your poor ratings by just talking to your clients and giving them realistic, honest delivery dates.

We did receive some correspondence from SCS with a PROMISE to get back to us last Tuesday with an expected delivery date.
Sorry to say we are still waiting for a delivery date as the PROMISE was not fulfilled.
Not holding out much hope of seeing the order so completion of our project has had to be put back again.
Once again SCS, be upfront, no more excuses please and either fulfil the order by this time next week or we will be taking steps to recover our money from you.
We can only say now from our dealings, and lack of communication from SCS all the best if you order from them and be prepared

Terrible experience dealing with this company. I would advise to read the other reviews which we naively decided to ignore on the basis that we were told their products were great quality. We ordered custom-built copping stones and sills almost 2 months ago and we were told lead time would be 3 weeks. Heard nothing for weeks, and after multiple follow-ups from our builder and us, a delivery date was set and not met. When the delivery arrived, it only contained half of the order. Had to call them again every day to get an answer about the second delivery (turns out they hadn't even started the job

I would caution anyone who is thinking of using this firm. The presales were good and responsive, but once you make your payment, everything goes downhill from then on.
I telephoned and email for confirmation of delivery and was told-off by James the owner for rushing them. They then missed the agreed delivery date without informing me and now I am not able to get through to them via email or phone. If I were close by I would turn up in person to confront them. As of this post Dec 2017, I am still waiting to hear back from them about my order.

Hi..I'm getting increasingly concerned as i am waiting for an order that was originally promised for 1st week of December. I am aware there can be delays but they don't seem to respond to emails or phone calls. I am not sure how I managed to place the order originally as they have never answered their phone since. Needless to say the money left my account within 5 minutes of giving them my details. Are they still trading?
