KJC Architects

Our journey with KJC Architects has elapsed a number of years, during which Kevin helped us above and beyond with discussions on feasibility of houses before we purchased, and now to make our vision of a much wanted home a reality. Kevin helped incorporate all our ideas, and listen to us and our wishes. As well as good humour and going the extra mile we will soon have the house that Kevin and his team made a reality. Thankyou - until the next house....??!

We first engaged with Kevin and KJC back in early 2020 for our house renovation (rear and side extension). Kevin stood out from the other architects we had spoken with because he understood what we wanted to achieve and was supportive of this whilst also providing other creative ideas for us to consider. We also had confidence from the reviews and pictures we had seen of their other completed projects that by going with KJC we would get a look and finish to our house renovation that we dreamed of, which fast forward to 2021 we did.

Having used KJC Architects for our first renovation back in 2017, they were the only architect we wanted to use for our second renovation which commenced early 2020. Of course it was a difficult year with the global pandemic, but Kev and his team were always available, and on hand to answer our many (many) questions. Our second renovation was much bigger and more intricate than our first renovation, and Kev suggested practical as well as beautiful design ideas. From our first dealings with Kevin and his team we found them professional and attentive. Kevin took the time to be interested in our project and really embraced what we were trying to achieve. Kevin and team completed all the design work for our house extension (single storey 10x3m extension plus removal of internal structural walls to create an open plan family space). Kevin’s team are an excellent combination of very thorough and very flexible. Their excellent knowledge of the process plus local contacts meant they were able to guide us through our first big extension project with relatively little stress. We would definitely recommend KJC architects.

Kevin and his team are lovely to work with - responsive and very patient with clients, even when under pressure, and genuinely passionate about making sure the work is done to the best standard possible, bearing in mind budget, logistical constraints etc. Using their contract administration service to help manage the build was great, not just to keep the builders on track but also to keep a keen eye on building/material costs. I really felt like they were in my corner and cared about the outcome, which took a lot of the stress out of the project, despite it happening during lockdown!

It was suggested that we take on the services of an Architect for an extension project we were undertaking. KJC were suggested to us and after the first zoom meeting, we decided that this was the firm for us. Kevin was professional and friendly, listened to our ideas, provided alternate solutions and through conversation, the best result came out.
Throughout the process, Kevin and Oliver kept us informed, were patient around our changes, provided constant updates, chased the planners and also suggested some changes along the way which we implemented.

We appointed KJC at the start of 2020 to come up with a design for our kitchen extension; planning submission and then detailed drawings for builders' quotes. We were initially impressed by Kevin's enthusiasm and creativity. We loved the design ideas and attention to detail. Planning was achieved without any dramas and throughout preparation of the detailed drawings Kevin and his team (Con) were easy to work with and professional (communication was spot on). If you want a good architect we have no hesitation recommending Kevin.
