The present directors Tim and Dennis Pywell, between them have over 80 years experience of inspecting properties in Somerset and the surrounding area, from their offices in Taunton, the county town, and Bridgwater, and providing clear understandable advice to their clients in relation to surveys and on the condition of houses and all other types of land and buildings.

House Surveys Owners & Buyers Report

The Valuation Inspection is usually carried out on behalf of the mortgage lender, for which the buyer pays a fee, but which tells them only the basics, as it is intended to answer the lenders questions concerning loan security. That inspection is usually undertaken by a Valuer, often employed directly by the Mortgage Lender or an affiliated company.

We asked Tim at Stilings to carry out a full building survey on a property that we intended to buy in the Bridgwater area, we knew it had issues but nothing quite as serious as it had! Tim really has your best interests at heart and keeps you up to date with everything through out always with a quick response. In the end we decided to pull out and I thank Tim for his expert advice. We asked Stilings to carry out a full Building Survey of a house we were intending to buy. The report was extremely thorough and included many supporting photographs. Tim was very helpful by talking us through some of the more significant findings and providing guidance on the actions that would need to be taken should we choose to proceed with the purchase. Spoke to Tim over the phone for a half hour regarding a homebuyers survey. Unfortunately he had surveyed the property before so was unable to do a survey on the one we were looking into (due to conflict of interest) but was so incredibly helpful and thorough with the property we were looking at and raised several concerns we hadn't been aware of. Extremelly useful, can't recommend enough.
