HUIS [House in Flemish] is an independent bar and restaurant in Southsea, Portsmouth, bringing Belgian beer and food culture together. Drinking at HUIS? Our beer range is extensive and ever changing with around 100 beers from Belgium & beyond. Our draughts include our own exclusive HUIS wheat, pilsner and blonde beers.
Eating at HUIS? We are the ideal lunch and dinner venue. We have full la carte options, many dishes are traditional Belgian dishes cooked in beer, including a wide selection of mussel and meatball dishes, and regular specials. The dcor is based around a 1960s living room with modernist features, and creates a welcoming atmosphere whether you're making a quick pitstop, or spending the day or evening with us.
Vienna style pork schnitzel HUIS Pilsner breaded, topped with a free range fried egg, served with bacon and onion fried potatoes. Grilled sourdough sandwich with rich peppered smoked salmon, cream cheese and fresh spinach.

We have visited Huis many times over the years and always love it. The selection beers is amazing and the menu provides delicious comfort food, stylishly presented. This weekend we introduced our friends to… Huis who had visited Belgium. They thought it was great, in fact one of our friends said he now knows where he wants his ashes scattered as he was in heaven. Return visit for us all very soon. Definately 5 🌟

Went to Huis for the first time yesterday based on the very positive online reviews and me and my wife are so so so glad that we did. This place is awesome. Incredible service, food, atmosphere and beer selection. My new favourite restaurant. This place just gets it and you can see the drive, passion and genuine desire to be the best. Already have plans to come here for my birthday and many more times also. Our server (long hair and yellow shirt) was superb. Be sure to avoid driving if you can as the beer selection is immense.

I really enjoyed our visit here. A fantastic range of beers available and so many interesting options on the food menu that it was a struggle to choose! I can recommend the mushroom meatballs. I went for the chips rather than the stoemp - I wasn't feeling adventurous enough but had a taste of someone else's which I enjoyed! I really value restaurants like this offering something different from the many many Italian and American cuisines we see so often.

'small and need to book'
Great little find walking back to the main part of town. Didn't have a booking but got a table for drinks for a hour. Huis is small and need to book I would say but otherwise it's a great little place.
I'm a big fan of Belgium beers and not many places in UK do the Belgium bar experience well but Huis have done it right, not one English beer in sight. They have that chilled Belgium vibe and welcoming attitude.
Didn't have the food on this visit but what was coming out did look good. Beers so many to choose from you must go and try.

Fantastic place with plenty of drink options and food.
Specialty beers both in bottle and on tap. Lots of spirit options and best of all some great tea and soft drink options.
Some really good food options available but I've not tried them but it looks really good on the table next to us.
