Tree stumps can be left in the ground after felling but this can lead to problems with suckering where new shoots arise from the trunk and roots. Stump grinding removes the main solid wooden stump from the top down to give enough depth to back fill with soil and re-instate the lawn etc. The process is quick and efficient.
A tree maybe dead, or dying. It may be leaning at an angle that it is unsustainable, or most commonly it may be the wrong species in the wrong location - that cannot be meaningfully reduced and retained. In the right environment, standing deadwood is excellent for wildlife habitat. Dead branches and trees can provide a habitat to a host of flora and fauna (especially birds and bats).
Felling requires some considerable space, ideally a clear piece of ground with no obstacles that is at least the size of the crown of the tree (when lying on the ground). If such clear space is available beside the tree (with no damageable plants or structures) then several factors should first be considered by your chosen professional tree surgeon.
Hedge laying is a traditional country skill that has been practiced for centuries. The original purpose was to create a stock proof barrier to prevent sheep, cattle and other farm animals straying from the land. The principles of hedge laying remain the same although styles may vary across the country.

Andrew and his team were able to remove 2 trees from our property efficiently and for a very reasonable price. When Andrew came round to quote for the work he was happy to walk around with me and discuss all the options available, this was very much appreciated as we have only recently moved in.

We employed Arbortech to take down a tree in a tricky position in relation to a building. Given the job they did we asked them to come back and take up the branches of many trees in our fields. Everyone was brilliant and polite and the areas on both jobs were tidied up beautifully. Would highly recommend.
