Blackthorn Timber Windows is family-run business established in 2009 by Duncan and Caroline Forster and supported by an excellent team of really dedicated people, from the joiners who install the windows and doors to our surveyors, sales and customer service people. Our core business is to supply and install made-to-measure replacement wooden windows and doors into private homes and apartments.
Timber is a vitally important way to take CO2 from the atmosphere. As a tree grows it absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere via a process called photosynthesis. There is a by-product - oxygen. For every cubic metre of timber grown, one tonne of CO2 is sequestrated from the air. Timber is therefore a 'carbon sink', locking away carbon for the lifetime of the product and potentially for many years more than that.

This company are a bunch of charlatans.
Selected due to a very competitive lead time, only to have them cancel our order and revoke the contract 8 weeks later. This has of course had a massive impact to our schedule and we now join a new (6 month long!) queue with a different firm. I would urge you to avoid as their commitment is clearly worthless.

Critical: Quality, Value
I spent a lot of money on windows. within under a year the brass work started to tarnish, no furniture to enable the top sash to be pulled open and at least 4 windows the top sash is stuck shut, I can only open them if I go outside and hit the sash quite hard to unstick it. Not impressed.

Please beware and please think twice about using this firm. I had doors and windows supplied and fitted to our home by Blackthorn, the project began in February 2018 and took 8 months to complete. Their suppliers are amateurs, their timescales are laughable, and overall this was an incredibly frustrating experience from start to finish. Think again, and take your hard earned money elsewhere.
