Our team of carpenter joiners are highly skilled in the hand craft manufacture and installation of all types of traditional wood box sash windows, wood casement windows and solid timber front doors. Established in 1987, I Foster & Sons is a family run business located in Romford on the borders of London and Essex.

We offer our customers a full replacement service which includes new boxes, architraves and nosing. All our box sash windows are fully draught excluded and operate on a spiral balance system. We are able to retain your original coloured glass and incorporate it into your new timber windows.

Services
Ian started his carpentry career at the tender age of 13, sweeping the floors after school at F Kimberley & Son in Romford, Essex. Upon leaving school, Ian secured the position of trainee carpenter at F Kimberley & Sons where he received his full carpentry training, working his way up to become a junior partner.
Throughout our 30 years of producing premium timber wood windows and doors in Romford, Essex, we have continuingly invested and researched our products to give our customers traditional, energy efficient, low maintenance windows and doors. We work closely with all our timber suppliers to ensure that we source only the highest quality timber from sustainable forests within the Far East.
We custom make two styles of timber casement windows, the first being the traditional square edge flush casement window which is hung on butt hinges and secured by stay bars and cockspur handles. The other being a stormproof casement window which is hung on friction hinges and secured by a multi point locking system.
Our solid timber wood entrance doors, front doors & porches are custom made in our workshop by our highly skilled team of carpenters and hand crafted to the highest standard.
Offering a full replacement service we are able to hand craft any design of your choice to give your home a more contemporary entrance, alternatively we are able to create a copy of your existing entrance door, allowing you to retain a traditional entrance to your home whilst enjoying the latest technology with enhanced security and energy efficiency.

We had our windows done by Ian and the team in early April and we were so pleased with the final result. Stunning windows with a beautiful finish. They make such a difference to our property both aesthetically and practically - no more draughts! I got quotes from several companies but chose to go with Ian because of his excellent knowledge and the process he asked me to follow when choosing windows. The windows were fitted by his team member Paul who was professional, tidy and polite throughout. I would strongly recommend this company for your windows and we will be asking them back in a few years

If you are a trade buyer - don't bother. they asked for windows schedule. kept me waiting. when chased made a feeble excuse that they had not received drawings. sent again and they made another feeble excuse. when I spoke to them to clear this they came out with the truth that theyonly supplied to retail - wasted my time. all they had to do is be honest in the first place.

I wish I could give this company more than 5 out of 5. The workmanship and service is excellent. From the first visit through to paying a deposit (and receiving a deposit guarantee certificate) to fitting, our experience has been first class. The window fitters were fantastic, friendly, helpful, thorough and of course, cleaned up everything behind them. I couldn't recommend this company highly enough. They aren't the cheapest but you really get what you pay for.
