A dropped kerb provides vehicles easy access to a pavement or footway to and from a driveway. A usual width crossing is 2.75m at the property boundary and 4.75m at the kerb edge. Kerbs are only to be dropped by approved and certified contractors that have at least a 5 million public liability and carry a full street works certification.
You must not attempt to carry out the work yourself. Just had my driveway done in block paving by Millstone Paving. Im thrilled to pieces with it. The guys worked around me so I didnt have to even take any time off work to do this - fantastic service. Darren and Stuart and their team have carried out excavation and landscaping on two of our neighbouring properties, one was an existing bungalow and the other a new build.
