Our story goes back to 1925, when George Morris, the grandfather of our current chairman, opened a joinery and manufacturing workshop in Glasgow with his friend, John Spottiswood. Over the years, the company has faced many challenges, but it has thrived and grown to be a leader in the industry, with a network of offices serving clients across the UK.

Their first job was working on the construction of a new Post office in Arrochar. The early Morris & Spottiswood workshop serviced Glasgow's strong industrial base during the 1930's.
The focus of much of this work was on building new schools for the city's growing population. By 1936 employee numbers had reached 80. With the start of the war, many staff left to join the services and, during the conflict, employee numbers fell to 30. Morris & Spottiswood played an important part on the home front, working, for example, to board up damaged properties.
