Vastern Timber manufactures oak beams, timber cladding and hardwood flooring. We specialise in British grown timbers, including English oak, sweet chestnut, ash, sycamore and larch. Vastern Timber is the largest hardwood saw-milling company in the UK, although we are very much a local business, with the vast majority of our wood bought and sold within one hundred miles of our sawmills.

Timber cladding is very versatile and works for contemporary or rustic styles on a variety of buildings. But making the right choice can be difficult with so many options available. At Vastern Timber, we've helped thousands of people make the right choice for their project. We produce a wide range of timber cladding at our sawmills in Wiltshire, and we specialise in processing British grown timbers like larch, cedar, oak and chestnut.
Beautiful, versatile and modified to last, Brimstone is a new breed of thermally modified British wood for external timber cladding. Sourced from woodlands across Britain, Brimstone is heated to 210 degrees, creating cladding that is very durable, stable, and visually attractive. If you are looking for a relatively knot-free hardwood cladding with a refined appearance and local provenance, Brimstone is for you.
Cedar has always been a favourite for exterior cladding. Being very stable, naturally durable and lightweight, cedar wood is designed by nature to do the job. But should you choose shiplap or feather-edge? We can help you confidently select the right cedar cladding for your project. The quality of cedar provided by Vastern was excellent, and the machining faultless making the fitting straightforward.

From the start Dee was so helpful with arranging our appointment to view Vasterns huge array of timber including kiln dried slabs and live edge pieces. We were promptly taken around to view the larger slabs by Wolf and advised on the various timbers they have I'm stock. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Cannot fault their service will be back👍🏻

Absolutely brilliant service, advice and products.
These guys were fantastic. They are based 200 miles away from where I live and all communicating from start to finish was excellent. From sending out samples to assisting my delivery driver with loading his van.
I ordered the 65mm factory grade t&g oak flooring.
This was for a room that I have knocked through that had an existing floor that had been down 20years. I had been advised at other places that I would not get anything to match. But with the help of the guys at Vastern and the guy who fitted my floor originally everything went perfect

The whole team at Vastern timber were superb and I couldn't fault them. The quality of the wood and the team is second to none. They know their business and are happy to take the time to help you to make the right choice. The setup there is unlike any mill you will go to and it's worth a visit just for the show room. The product is not only high quality but it's competitively priced. I can't recommend them highly enough.
