As you start your self build journey you probably already know that it's not going to be easy. However, don't let that put you off. No construction project is easy especially a Self Build and if you want to limit your carbon impact this may feel like the challenge is even harder. Taking the plunge and committing to a Self Build, it's possibly the first and maybe the only house you will ever build.
This project like most starts with a telephone enquiry asking if I am interested in designing a new house for the hopeful new house builders, the answer is always yes. If you have the space, the vision and the budget, you can make the most of a very large garden by building a second property within it.
All our project work is approached with sustainability in mind. How to create spaces that are interesting, function as needed for the user and positively respond to the environment, We think this is the right way to design buildings and spaces. Well insulated walls will keep heat loss to a minimum and combined with airtight construction will provide a comfortable healthy interior.
Usually sitting amongst trees and treading lightly on woodland with no or minimal removal of trees, the forest school template is quick & easy to install using pre-assembled oak or douglas fir frame and insulated wall, floor & roof panels. The space is designed to be adaptable and can be used by schools & clubs as well as a garden studio or perhaps as an extension to provide extra space at home or for learning.
