Bruno Gouveia RIBA member is the founder of qR Architects | London. He was born in Lisbon. He graduated in Architecture from Universidade Lusiada, where the tendency and the influence from Architects like Siza Vieira, Souto Moura and one of his teachers, the Architect Manuel Aires Mateus made a huge difference in his design.
He came to London in 2007 joining a Practice where he refined his skills and absorbed all the mixed culture that is London in these days, preparing him to deal with all nationalities and communities, necessities and backgrounds. Bruno Gouveia established the architectural practice in London.
The practice has since undertaken architectural work across a variety of sectors - with particular expertise on high quality residential new houses, residential buildings developments, refurbishments, offices, and retail.Carolina Rodrigues is an architect graduated with a Master degree in Architecture at Coimbra University since 2013.

I really enjoyed my experience with QR Architects. The level of detail and thought they put in to our project was fantastic. Bruno is a perfectionist and has an exceptionally eye for detail and how you might use a room and the practicalities of what needs to go where and how does open and what size steps need to be etc. The level of detail for the tender pack was also exceptionally (having asked all the builders who tendered). The rest of the QR team were always on hand to help and I think their project management skills were great in terms of filtering only the really necessary things I needed

Absolutely brilliant service, professionalism and very easy to work with. The team helped me through the process on a mid sized development and it went really well. Really positive and productive team, great communication and genuine care for the project which made the process enjoyable and stress free.
As a developer, it’s great having Joana and Bruno on my side, chasing me up to ensure we follow the correct procedures. Keeping on top of any problems and having them to call upon and be able to trust them.

I would like to leave a sincere review of appreciation for qR Architects based on my first experience of meeting with Bruno, who drove across town for a no obligation visit.
After having seen an amazing overall house renovation project that
qR Architects have recently completed in my neighbourhood I invited Bruno to visit my property for a consultation. I had already seen a number of different architects (some only limiting their presentation to a mere phone chat) and although knowledgeable, they all limited themselves to just guide me through

QR designed our loft conversion and rear extension which have transformed our house. Throughout the entire process, Bruno and his team were very detailed and patient with us. We engaged qR Architects for the loft conversion, rear extension and overall refurbishment work on our house, which has since been transformed. Throughout the whole process, Bruno and his team were very enthusiastic, detailed, and professional. Every stage was made very clear to us and any questions we have were promptly responded. The talent of the team was truly reflected in the design, the use of and the creation of space. The character of the house was well preserved in the design which also incorporated many modern elements that improved both functionality and aesthetic of the house

We worked with QR Architects who designed us a rear and loft extension. A big thank you to all the team, especially to Bruno for sharing with us your wealth of knowledge and experience and for giving us such a beautiful family home. It has been a delight to work with a team who will not settle for anything but the best, who doesn’t give in and keeps going until it is absolutely right. Having heard that qR Architects and Bruno are the most recommended Architect's practice in the UK, I would like to leave my contribution as well. I worked with them on several projects and I’m quite happy with their service, design and innovation not even mentioning Bruno's passion and nonstop commitment to it's work and clients. I would definitely not recommend anyone else but them. Happy client.

Bruno and his team worked hard to plan our extension exactly as we wanted it. They did something which other architects could not. We hired qR Architects after our previous architects could not get the extension we wanted through planning and did not understand the feedback we were receiving from the council. We are over the moon with the results and get lovely comments about our new rooms. The builders he recommended did an outstanding job. Highly recommend this company
