I know that UPVC doors have many benefits, but the down side is that the multi point locking mechanisms have a lot of moving parts and a lot of moving parts under the stresses of everyday use doesn't normally end well, when you leave for work in the morning or return home later and find that your UPVC door is jammed in the locked or unlocked position it can be something you could do without.
Just like your door, a UPVC window can encounter problems with the mechanism, whether this is from excess forces being applied or from bad weather corroding the parts and rusting them in place. You'll know the mechanism has failed when you can no longer open the handle or often the handle will operate with difficulty yet the window remains locked shut.

First class service from Andrew at Fortify Locksmiths. After been left sitting in my car in sub zero temperatures for 2 hours by another "local" locksmith who never turned up because his van had supposedly broken down, I gave Fortify Locksmiths a call. Andrew arrived within 10 minutes and had me back in the house in less than 5. Literally couldn't ask for more.

We’ve never used a locksmith before but after doing some research online reading various reviews we came across Andrew from Fortify Locksmiths and thought we would call him. What a lovely person this gentleman is. He was really professional and very knowledgeable and very good at explaining things and takes his business seriously. He also doesn’t take your eyes out at charging ridiculous prices. I had two windows which kept getting stuck when opening/closing which Andrew informed me needed new hinges but he didn’t think it was a major problem as they still worked and could be replaced sometime
