Services
We work throughout Brighton and Hove, Sussex and the South-East on residential and commercial projects, both new-build and extensions/alterations. With our passion and 30 years of professional experience, we put your needs and dreams at the centre of our design process. Our designs are characterised by creative use of light and space, lateral thinking, attention to detail and the careful selection of natural materials.
In the mid-90s, Koru director Mark spent spent three years travelling overland through Africa, Asia and South America. This experience opened his eyes to global environmental devastation and climate change. We promote design that is respectful of its context and that responds to the scale, rhythm and materials of the locality.
Koru Architects is an award-winning design-led practice specialising in eco-design. We work in Brighton and across Sussex on residential and commercial projects, both new-build and extensions/alterations. Our creative and holistic approach to a project coupled with our ability for problem solving and lateral thinking enables us to explore many more options than may at first be apparent.
Generally we charge for our time and services as a fixed fee. Only the smallest projects and additional services mid-project would be invoiced on a time charge basis. Therefore, if the scope of your project does not change, our fees will remain as a fixed amount from the start of the project to completion.
All fully trained architects are registered with the ARB, which regulates the profession. Using their register means you can be sure your architect has the appropriate training, qualifications and professional credibility. Our director, Mark Pellant, has been an ARB-registered architect for 25 years.

We had come across Koru Architects at the Weald Wood Fair over a few years and were sympathetic to their approach to new build. Initially impressed by the clearly laid out costings of each of the various stages of the project, we then hired them – i.e. Mark – who
