We create custom made furniture to suit your individual needs, whether it is a focal piece for your reception area, a completely new kitchen or wardrobe, or a company boardroom table. We begin with a free and no obligation consultation, and then take a brief and produce designs that will be amended until we are sure that the finished piece will meet your exact requirements.
We can provide a full service to repairs of modern/antique wood surfaces. Services include; French Polishing, Stripping/Sanding By Hand, Inlaying, Table Top Leather Lining, Re-veneering, Upholstery, Gilding, Glazing, Furniture Repair and much more. From antique through to modern wooden furniture we can strip, re-spray, polish, wax and bring your furniture back to life.

I recently used the Abbey Group for a corner unit that was my mum’s and housed all her crystal figurines. She recently passed so I really wanted to keep it and look after it, but there was a deep scratch at the bottom, probably hoover related. I have seen other reviews and went to school with Lisa, so they were first port of call. I was out when it… was picked up. But a week later Lee came and dropped it off and we were amazed by how good it looked, would never know the mark was there! Lee and everyone are always so happy and jolly. The team at Abbey Group have gone above and beyond for us. Our antique furniture was destroyed in a water leak at home, and has now been restored by the team to a much higher standard than what we had prior to the flood! They kept us informed throughout, Lisa in particular was very responsive to our queries and emails, and sent us pictures throughout the restoration period to show us the progress on our furniture. I cannot praise Abbey enough for the work they have done for me - fixing and restoring our furniture after moving to England from Singapore. We faced myriad issues but Abbey had a solution in their toolkit for every problem. In every instance I was struck by the confidence they showed - every problem had a fix! They removed mould from audio speakers, a leather sofa and even from the underside of glass in framed pictures. They fixed chips and decolouring in a wooden cabinet and delicate standing screen. The 3 pieces of furniture were inspected at our home and estimates given for the work that could be done to repair them. The furniture was then collected with an arrangement being made for return after repair on a mutually agreed date. We are very pleased with the results. The three items have been repaired and look a lot better. They can also now be returned to daily use as a bureau, side table and card table. The work has been professionally done and the service was polite, friendly and helpful.

I was referred to Abbey following a house fire where a lot of our furniture suffered water damage and dents and knocks as the house was saved.
The items they repaired / restored included wooden wardrobes and drawers, painted drawers, tables and a storage unit, a brass bed, a metal and wood console table and a Shaker stool. There was a also a large wooden dining table that had suffered severe (and I mean severe!) warping and splitting as the house was dried out and rebuilt.
The team from Abbey were always communicative, courteous and knowledgeable. The standard of their restoration work is superb

Sent my Antique Gramophone to be restored. The initial estimate "Antique Gramophone case to be restored - exterior/woodwork only excludes any works to the mechanisms"
They claim "we have done the works exactly as outlined on the initial quotation/estimate"
As you can see from the photos;
The joint in the top is not even aligned. The side panel and the interior have touched, let alone sanded down
I would not recommend them to anyone.
My last email to her. She responded by threatening to block my emails.

Well Lisa, Lee and their excellent team have just finished a complete renovation of the dust filled furniture of our London flat, including a chandelier. On looking at their rave reviews I cannot improve upon what has been said by all who have had the good fortune to come into contact with them.But what I would say is that they are usually involved… when 'we' have a tragedy of some kind and for me they were a breath of fresh air compared to dealing with insurance companies and loss adjusters and their managing agents, just for someone to understand the angst felt and offer common sense proposals

I have used Abbey Antiques on more than one occasion. Firstly, I asked Lisa if she could restore my Nan's dressing table. She has long since passed away, but I could not bear to part with it. Lisa advised me that it was furniture from the war time and so had to be sanded by hand as machinery would probably break it. Obviously, it didn't have… any great value, but to me it was priceless.
