About us Report

Capital Chartered Surveyors and Valuers was established in 2009 by Robin Jones BSc MRICS and Fraser Maldoom Dip. VEM FRICS. Our Directors and Consultants are all Chartered Surveyors and RICS Registered Valuers each with over 25 years surveying experience in a wide range of surveying disciplines. Our "core team" have worked together since 2003 or earlier, throughout London & The Home Counties, from offices in Central and South West London.

Capital Chartered Surveyors is an experienced General Practice surveying company offering a wide range of survey and valuation services within London and the M25. We offer free initial advice so call us now with your requirements. A Building Survey (or Structural Survey as it was previously known) is a detailed inspection of each of the external and internal elements of a property, as far as they are accessible.

RICS HomeBuyer Reports Report

The HomeBuyer Report seeks to address this issue by providing buyers with useful information at a reasonable cost. The lender's valuation is not a report on condition and is prepared for the benefit of the lender. Unlike Capital Chartered Surveyors, some firms do not offer the official RICS product so it's important to establish what you are buying before you instruct.

Snagging Survey Report

Newly-built or converted properties are known for minor defects or "snags" caused by poor workmanship or equipment. A snagging survey also known as snagging list or snagging inspection is a report prepared prior to completion or at any time during the two years following the purchase.

Inheritance Tax/Probate Valuations Report

Probate valuation dates are often retrospective and can date back many years, so require skill and judgment to arrive at an accurate figure. Capital Chartered Surveyors will undertake a site inspection, measure floor areas, check known data bases for comparable evidence and provide a detailed written valuation suitable for submission to HMRC.

They conducted a good survey and provided a comprehensive report. But they were not helpful beyond that when we asked the surveyor questions about what sort of certificates etc. we should be asking the seller for. They came back saying we had purchased a home buyers report and for that, the report was all we would get. They did not go above and beyond by any means.

We contacted Capital Surveyors to do a Building Survey report for a property we were thinking purchasing. The property in question is a Beautiful Rambling Edwardian Villa - in need of a LOT of tender loving care. We needed a deep understanding of the structure to chart out a fairly comprehensive renovation plan. Capital Surveyors conducted the inspection that friday and had a full, clear, and very detailed report back with us over the weekend. I called with a few after inspection questions that came up with our solicitor and the surveyor was very prompt with clear responses.
