Before choosing underfloor heating, many factors need to be considered; one of, if not the most important of which, is floor construction. Underfloor heating can be fitted in both concrete and timber suspended floors, but for other floor constructions (for example we also offer a 'floating floor' solution) please contact us.
Henco multilayer pipe systems now offer the most comprehensive range of plumbing and heating systems available. Used extensively throughout Europe, multilayer pipe is both flexible and formstable. Its enclosed aluminium pipe ensures that Henco multilayer pipe is 100% oxygen diffusion proof while maintaining very low expansion rates similar to other metal pipes.
The diagram below shows an example of a pipe layout for a ground floor including suggested loop-lengths and manifold positioning. The maximum heat output for underfloor heating systems is 100 W/m2 for concrete floors and 70 W/m2 for timber suspended floors. For any underfloor heating system to work efficiently, the property needs to be built to current building regulations and no rooms should lose more than the above output.
