Services
Hi, we're Andrew and Emma, and together with our family, we live on a small farm on the Blackdown Hills in Somerset, which we'd love to share with you. Listed in the Domesday book, it's an historic place, so that's partly why we chose Shepherd Huts for our glamping business - as it combines heritage with luxury.
We're real foodies here at Dimpsey and love cooking over wood, so we can provide pizza ingredients and extras as part of your break to cook here. However, we are also surrounded by amazing places to eat and love to share our recommendations with guests. You'll find some of them below. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by great places to eat.
Dimpsey is all about escaping the world of busy and finding that time to relax, recharge and reconect with each other. We have two shepherd huts available for guests, two fields apart from each other so your privacy is guaranteed, with their own woodfired hottubs, outdoor kitchens and outside space.
We want staying in the hut to feel like a luxury hotel, so we've tried to go the extra mile to make it really comfortable for you, ensuring that all the styling is from British designers and adding in extra little treats to delight you. The hut is 18 feet long and contains a double bed, seating, kitchen area and a bathroom with shower and flushing toilet.
A gorgeously appointed double shepherd hut stay space offering kitchen, en-suite and bedroom with copper bateau bath at the foot of the bed and a stargazer window over it. Perfectly settled into a small private copse of woodland, the luxurious interior leads out to a wilder outside with woodfired hottub and garden oven and plenty of space to watch the deer and pheasants amble past your door.

Do not book without travel insurance…
We had an unfortunate experience with Dimpsey after booking a weekend stay for my partner and I from 1-3 January 2022 (totalling £575). Sadly, I tested positive for Covid 5 days prior to our trip, and I contacted Emma requesting to re-arrange our weekend to a time that suited her, thinking this would be fine considering the Government self-isolation rules. We were very surprised that Emma refused to re-arrange our stay, as although under the terms and conditions no refund would be available in the event of a cancellation within 4 weeks of the booking, we

A delightful stay at Dimpsey. The shepherd's hut is characterful, charming and cozy. A perfect retreat. A lot of thought has gone into making the hut comfortable and special and it's very clean. There's a lot to do in the area but we also enjoyed chilling. Great places to eat nearby but with restricted opening times due to Covid we made good use of Bonners in Ilminster. We really appreciated the maps/ walking routes. The only issue we had was with the fire pit and chiminea which were excessively smokey. We have both at home and use seasoned wood which works well. Fortunately we'd brought warm blankets

What can we say? Wow! This place is amazing! Absolute luxury in the middle of nowhere. Stylishly decorated and furnished with high-quality items. We felt thoroughly pampered yet totally immersed in nature. Our hosts were discreet but available whenever we needed them. They’d also thought of everything we might need during our stay and we enjoyed finding little gems in cupboards and drawers, such as the record player and 80s compilation album! It was a real treat and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much.

I absolutely loved my stay at Dimpsey! Everything (from high quality toiletries/soaps to a record player!) has been thought through so you can arrive and switch off with everything you need. I saw some beautiful wildlife and star gazed too. While the location is great for exploring Somerset the huts are so cosy and fun to be in you almost don’t want to leave them! Would recommend and hope to stay again ✨😍
