Penstraze Sawmill was established over 20 years ago by David Bedford. We are a local Timber Merchant and Sawmill supplying customers all over Cornwall and employing local people. Since the company was established we have grown and we now feel we are one of the South Wests leading retailers in timber, fence materials and other associated products.

We have an extensive range of Timber available for customers in Cornwall. Our prices are fair and we often have better pricing than other wood and timber suppliers in Cornwall. Please call us for any specific requirements as we can often do longer lengths for example. Sawn timber is the term used in describing wood that is freshly cut.
We stock an extensive range of fencing panels and fencing materials so if you are in Cornwall and need a fence then look no further. Horizontal slats in a traditional tanalized colour, the most economical option for your garden fence. Also known as larch lap panels. These come in standard sizes of 6ft x 6ft, 6ft x 5ft, 6ft x 4ft and 6ft x 3ft.
We have a range of cladding materials available for supply in the Truro area and to anyone in Cornwall. Generally machined from Fourth/Fifth quality Redwood. It is suitable for interior or exterior (once treated) use. Our cladding is available in a range of timbers, sizes and profiles. In addition to our stock cladding we are also able to offer a range of profiles machined on site such as.
We make to order an extensive range of quality Cornwall garden and entrance gates at very competitive prices. We also stock 5 bar field gates. We produce our gates in softwood but can supply hardwood gates. Please call for further information. Our 5 bar field gates are our most popular gates, they have enough strength to be used to close off a field or are ideal as a driveway or entrance gate.
Our range of ironmongery products is vast. We carry several thousand pieces of ironmongery in stock, the products range from gate and fencing fixings to screws, nails and staples. Nice people, very helpful and great prices. People like Travis and so on just can't compete. I built a pagoda with timber from here, the advice and support was great, deliveries were fast and the drivers were great they even offloaded everything and stacked it neatly when I wasn't home to help. You couldn't ask for more.

My order took a week to be delivered as they had no means of protecting it for delivery during wet weather. Apparently the only transport they had was open-backed & they didn't have anything to cover it. Also, the 2x2 planed I ordered was in fact 1.75x1.75. That's a lot of planing & caused a lot of extra hassle. That said, the wood is reasonably straight & I can't argue with the price hence the 2 stars.
