Services
Working with local Archdiocese bodies, Local Authorities and Private Educational Establishments, Freewood Building Contractors have a maintenance team on hand to deal with anything from a slipped slate to a collapsed drain. We work with schools, colleges and universities alike and, as we carry all trades, we can cover most eventualities.
Over the years Freewood Building Contractors have been involved in various planned maintenance programmes for several large industrial clients in the North West. We have carried out proprietary maintenance programmes and also been responsible for drawing up maintenance plans to meet the annual building repair budgets of some of our clients.
In some cases, maintenance is no longer an issue as the ravages of time and weather take their toll on certain types of structures. Restoration becomes the only alternative and Freewood Building Contractors have carried out several projects where the skills of a traditional stonemason, metalworker, and cabinet maker have been required.
As part of many Planned Maintenance Programmes our clients take the opportunity to respond to changes in various pieces of Governmental Legislation. This has been the case in the Sheltered and Social Housing sector with Freewood Building Contractors carrying out minor and major adaptations to allow our clients to conform to the Disability Discrimination Act 2005.
Before refurbishment options are appraised, the type, age, historical and intended use of a building all need to be considered. Together with our in-house architect, we can help you come to a decision regarding what you do about your investment. The building may be tired but too beautiful to consider knocking it down, or protected under local building conservation legislation, either way, the building often gets a reprieve.
