Nottingham Chimney Sweep can fit all types cowls and bird guards to your existing chimney to stop the elements entering you chimney. If you are experiencing any issues with birds nesting, rain water, downdraft or problems with the flue drawing, then a chimney cap or cowl could solve the problem. We also can supply and fit a chimney liner down any existing masonry chimney stack.
All installations are carried out in accordance with current building regulations and a HETAS Certificate of Compliance issued. This is very important and guarantees that it has been installed correctly and to the current building regulations. You can install a stove yourself, but you will need an inspector from Building Control to inspect the installation which can cost in the region of 300.00.
Tradition has it that 200 years ago, a chimney Sweep saved the life of King George III by stopping his runaway horses and carriage (a yapping dog had startled the horses). The King was so thankful that he took off his hat and bowed to the humble chimney sweep in gratitude for him having saved the King's life.

Despite a massive amount of ash coming down the chimney, not a particle of dust was floating in the room. Very clean, very tidy. He also looked into places inside the chimney I would not have thought about and pulled everything out. We even got the satisfaction of seeing the brush popping out of the chimney! 😀 ok, great stuff, really!

Mark swept our 1901 Edwardian (extremely tall 3+ storey) chimney, lined it, re-capped it, replaced the register board with one much superior to the original (as well as sweeping our 2nd chimney) and did a fantastic job, super tidy, friendly and professional, committed to the highest standards and our safety. Really went the extra mile - for example noting as the wood stove had to be removed for the work it was a good time to repaint the rather battered plasterwork behind it (which he then did!). Mark recently Installed and commissioned a Charnwood C5 wood burner into our 1960 3 bed semi. From initial contact with Mark where I sent some pictures and asked for a quote, communication was excellent and the quote was very reasonable.
