Rotunda Roundhouses

The 'Rotunda' modular eco-building was brought into existence in 2011/2012 by our founder and spatial designer Gemma Roe. Pregnant at the time with her first child, Gemma was on a mission to create a truly sustainable structure which would enhance human well-being & celebrate our British Woodlands.

Environmental Psychologists are finding that because humans evolved in a natural landscape, it is advisable to turn to the natural environment for clues about preference patterns that may be applicable to building design to enhance our well-being. The Rotunda is manufactured in the North West of England and transported all over the UK and Europe in Pre-fabricated panels. Once arrived at it's destination, our joinery team install it in as little as 10 working days, right up to the final paint finish. This building is supplied with Argon filled double glazed windows, damp-proof membranes and full mains electrics as well as interior and exterior finishes as part of the package.

We at Rotunda wholeheartedly believe that our built environment affects our psychology on a daily basis and can certainly affect our well-being on both a physical and emotional level. Our human connection with round buildings is hard-wired into our subconscious; round is a familiar and soothing shape in nature, from birds nests and unfurling ferns to the swirling events in our atmosphere.
