Condensation is the name given to the forming of water droplets on walls and windows from moisture held in the air. It is caused by warm, humid air coming into contact with cold walls and windows. The sudden change in temperature transforms the water vapour into its liquid state. It is an unavoidable phenomenon, as day-to-day tasks like cooking, showering, and even breathing release water vapour into the surrounding air.
Usually, when we spot evidence of damp in a property, it is only the tip of the iceberg. While tide marks, mould, and crumbling plaster are certainly indicators of a damp problem, they rarely reveal the full extent of the problem. Indeed, the existence of damp in one part of a home often suggests other parts of the property might also be affected.

Jack and his team were great and carried out the works as agreed in a professional and friendly manner, taking good care of my home in the process and leaving it in a clean state on completion. His proposal and guidance on how to remedy the issue of rising damp in my property provided the greatest level of confidence and peace of mind and this is what led me to go with Olympic Preservation over other contractors.

Finding Jack has been a highlight of what has been a very rocky road renovating our house in East Finchley. Olympic Preservation carried out a damp proof course and render installation on the ground floor of the house. I had to fit the damp treatment in before prearranged building works and was delighted with the flexibility that Jack showed in squeezing the job in at short notice. As a bonus, I received really useful general pointers to take forward with the builders. Altogether my experience with Olympic Preservation was a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t recommend this company enough!

Jack and his team came and fixed a number of damp issues in our lower ground floor flat, prior to putting it on the market. They arrived on time each day, worked solidly and cleaned up thoroughly each afternoon - and were super friendly to boot! The work was done to an excellent standard. Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend Jack and Ben from Olympic Preservation. From the minute I contacted Jack about a rising damp problem, he was efficient, professional and was happy to answer questions and explain about the work that was needed. Jack and his team are absolutely brilliant! I could not recommend them more, they are so good and clearly experts of all things damp, Jack talked me through things at every stage and made it really clear and easy to understand and less intimidating! The actual work was really thorough and done with such precision. You can tell how they left my house at the end of each day how respectful they are, they went out of their way to keep my belongings protected and minimise dust etc. They are really nice friendly guys who were a pleasure to have around. Also by far the cheapest quote i had, so don't hesitate

Jack and his team were excellent throughout. During the initial survey Jack explained in detail what the problem areas were and the best way to treat it. And when it came to doing the actual work, the guys were punctual and did a very professional job. They were friendly and tidy and showed me what they were doing at every stage.
