Gulshan is the proud creation of Mr Rahman and his two sons, Mamun and Suffian. Between them they have over 45 years experience in the restaurant catering industry. Having still running a successful restaurant in Whitley Bay called Takdir for 36 years, the opportunity came along to expand into the beautiful picturesque village of Tynemouth in late 2014.
At Gulshan we have gone strawless! We are doing our bit with helping the environment as we believe every little can really help. Plastic straws are just one of many single-use plastics which end up in the ocean, polluting the water and harming sea life. So we have joined the movement For A Strawless Ocean and take action against plastic pollution, starting with the plastic straw!
Did you know at Gulshan we only use the freshest of ingredients! We buy from our local fisheries to support local trading and ensuring only the best fish is handpicked for our restaurant. Fantastic meal even though it was on the Thursday night special plenty of choice decent sized portions couldn't fault anything great friendly staff excellent service, well done.

The menu at Gulshan is traditional yet modern at the same time, with dishes from most regions of Indian and Bangladesh. The menu comprises of all the traditional dishes such as the nations favourite. Chicken Tikka Mossala, Madras, Bhuna and Korma to name a few. We also have our modern day Indian dishes in our very own Signature collection exclusive to Gulshan.

The best food tynemouth has to offer if not the North of england. Been here that many times I've lost count. Food is un real each time every time. Staff leave you to eat but are always near by for drinks and that all important bill. Price for the area is fantastic. Highly recommended this restaurant for date nights, family nights, work nights.

This is a brilliant Indian restaurant and one you should hit when you’re in tynemouth. The food was delicious, very well priced and a generous portion. I had the jalfrazi which didn’t disappoint on any level. We sat down at 9pm on a Friday and there was a great vibe about the place which is helped by the very friendly staff.

Starter was excellent, service was perfect well looked after, only to be let down by the main with the chicken extremely overcooked and unfortunately couldn't finish.
It was very busy as it was Saturday so I would Definitely be going back to try it again!
Spicy beef with bread bun for starters was excellent.
Gins probably the best I've had in tynemouth!

Had a meal here on Sunday night. The decor is excellent and the service and staff superb.
The meal was very tasty and plentiful and well presented.
Only a couple of minor gripes, they ran out of onion bhajis! and the coffee machine was off. Don't know if it was broken or just turned off but put a bit of a downer on the experience.
Overall though an excellent restaurant and worth a visit.

Came here at the weekend with my girlfriend after being rudely turned away from a seafront restaurant (Think it was called Da-Vinci). Straight from walking in the door we were made to feel welcomed from the friendly bar staff and then the manager got us a table near the window for a nice cool area. Bei g vegetarian the menu choice was perfect with a good variety for us and not made to feel like we were just a side thought with veg options. The presentation, staff friendliness and price makes this top of our list for places to revisit.
