The Babbage's hung out their shingle in 1984, bringing together the three brothers, their Mother, Father and a small group of quality tradesman as a general building contracting company, named after their parents Brian 'B' and 'M' Mary, not very imaginative but tapping into a well established name well known within the Cotswolds more importantly than their home town of Cheltenham.
In those days the slogan was 'for all your building needs' domestic, commercial, shops, civil engineering, in fact any construction work where the opportunity presented itself. The strength within the business in those early days used the 'family' members strung out across the workforce with representatives from the site based operations to the supporting function within the office.
The business demand forced a dilution of the family element with a greater polarisation on individual skills but without losing the family business feel. The client base grew steadily moving with the market conditions, in the late eighties the construction market was strong in housing and we moved into this sector providing a house building service for individuals, development companies and architect led projects.

The team is a group of individuals with a wide experience of construction and construction related affairs. Based on a family company with a focus on trade based skills. Regular and wide ranging training has been used to give a balance to the group and give confidence to engage in all construction related tasks with flare, ingenuity and integrity.
Please discuss this with your Contracts Manager. We would prefer to deal with any workmanship issues as soon as they arise as to rectify afterwards could cause unnecessary disruption. If you have a serious problem or complaint we would ask you to contact your Contracts Manager who will give you their personal attention.

Following a water leak from a burst pipe under our kitchen and dining room floors our insurers (Aviva) appointed B and M Babbage to coordinate the installation of new floors and remedial decorating. Everything went very smoothly, all appointments were kept, the tradesmen were polite and very tidy and the work done to a standard we are very happy with. All communications with their office and management was both friendly and professional, we always had quick responses to any queries we had.

We were very pleased with the building and repair service from B & M Babbage. They worked efficiently, tidily and without fuss. We were kept informed at all times and everyone was very considerate towards my elderly mother which meant she could continue to live in the house while work was in progress. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company

Responsive and professional. Place looked good and was cleaned afterwards. I noticed a tiny thing after completion and they were happy to come back and sort it. They went above and beyond (I asked them to take deliveries etc for me)

Very poor quality firm. They subcontract to the lowest quality guys who drove an hour and a half each morning from the Black Country and were paid a pittance. Their local guys also complained about rates of pay. Cement a different colour where they regrouted so it looks awful. Plasterers were shockingly bad and argued with the decorators. Their supervisor had the chat to convince me all would be okay. It wasn’t. They are a terrible firm and I would advise you to avoid them like the plague.

If this hadn't been an insurance claim I would have sacked them months before they finished.
They only responded to the loss adjuster not the actual customer - the person who had lost their home and husband in a fire in their property. The restoration took 8 months from the date of the fire before my mother could move back home, when it could and should have taken less than 1/2 that.
They are more interested in ripping off the insurance company and bidding for more work from them than actually carrying out the work they have already got.
They told me a room needed lining (5 rolls of paper) before

It is rare to find a building company that you cannot fault, but during the four months that B & M Babbage have been involved in refurbishing my garage following a fire I have had exemplary service. The work was completed on time and to a very high standard. Everyone involved, both on site and in the office, was friendly and respectful towards both me and my property. I was kept fully up to date with who would be on site each day and I was included in all the decision making. The site was at all times safe and tidy. I would certainly use B & M Babbage for any work I needed doing in the future and
